Using decals

I have won a number of decals after tank battles (and I think a couple of camouflage schemes?). I assumed I would be able to apply them to my tanks by accessing the customisation menu, but all my customisation menus are empty. How can you apply decals (or camouflage) you have been awarded?

Access the customisation menu for the vehicle of choice.

 

Any camouflages available are accessible via the drop down menu.

 

For decals, click an empty decal slot, and the list of available decals will appear. Select decals of choice and apply to vehicle.

there are only a few decals 'integrated' into the client afaik... most of them are getting downloaded dynamically on demand

(like when you open the decals menu or when you enter a battle with someone having decals applied to his / her vehicle).

 

if there are no decals are shown at all (or only a very few) there might be a connection issue (to the decal CDN servers).

Thanks for that, found the decals (they way they show the slots with the wording 'empty' is a bit misleading). 
 

As for camouflage, I had already found the drop down menu but they are all locked camouflages. I haven't found any I have been awarded after battles - do you still have to pay for them to unlock them?

You see the requirements for the unlocking of camos when hovering your mouse over them in the dropdown list.

 

Usually the requirements for low-tier vehicles is very low, and you should manage to get a unlockeable camo after a few matches, but the requirements get harder the higher up you go, so for high tier vehicles you sometimes need literally e.g. hundreds of kills with tat vehicle.

 

BUT: Not all camos are unlockeable, and some can only be purchased with Golden Eagles. Also this is indicated on mouse-hover.

Yes, actually since I wrote the last comment I have found a few that have been unlocked and were obviously ones I had been awarded. Thanks anyway.

If you check your profile (click on your name in the hangar) there is an overview of the skins, which ones are unlocked, and progress towards unlocking them.
