I would like to suggest one of the ULTIMATE russian tank. the Object 292

 

 

the Object 292 an experimental tank of design bureau of the Kirov Plant (JSC Spetsmash) and scientists of the All-Russian Research Institute Transmash. the prototype was based on the T-80U with a new turret. the chassis was a T-80 with little modification but the turret was up-gunned with a 152.4 smoothbore gun. the new gun was having the same diameter of chamber from the 125mm but much longer. the anti-tank capacity was so improved in a way that the tank could potentially engage and destroy with a single hit any tank of the western block at battle distance.

the turret was switchable on any T-80 MBT to allow a conversion of all the T-80 tank in the Soviet arsenal. on the down side, the tank could carry only 16 shells. the turret proposea similar protection from the T-80U with composite and reactive armour. like most of the Russian tank of his time, the gun offer poor depression and slow reload (despite of the autoloader). the mobility of the barrel and turret was also lower than the regular T-80, thanks to the heavier gun. despite of been less versatile in battle, the firepower was much superior.

the Object 292 was built in 1990 and tested in 1991 with success but was never put into production. the cause of the cancellation of the project was the lack of founding and the fall of USSR that had occurred the same year.

 

the only prototype built is currently exposed at Kurinka Tank museum. in which i am sure, Gaijin have a regular visit and privileged access to facilitating the 3D modelling.

Also isn’t this supposed to have like 1,000mm of penetration at over 5km or something ridiculous like that?  This would be something to add if we had M1A2 SEP v2s or whatever in game.

Well it has the same caliber gun as the KV-2/SU-152/ISU-152.  But the barrel is as long as a 125mm 2A46.  With 1A45 fire control systems when relevant (presumably), so it’s not going to miss if it’s target is within a few kilometres of it.  The only problem is 16 rounds, other than that, if it has HE, this won’t be just a derp gun, this would be the ultimate god of ‘excessive firepower’.
