Silent870 39 Report post Posted August 30, 2019 Another unique low tier vehicle that could be added to the new Chinese tech tree. Description from http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/china/chinese-tanks-1925-1950/: “M4A2 (Sherman) “012403” of the PLA (specifically, the East China Field Army) in Xuzhou, circa October 1st, 1949, during a local parade for the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China. This vehicle is theorized to have been left behind by, and inherited from, the United States Marine Corps, who used M4A2 during the repatriation of Japanese occupation forces from China, following the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945). No M4A2s are known to have been supplied to the KMT. The gun is apparently non standard, and may be anything a .50cal machine gun, a 37mm gun from a Chi-Ha, or a prop for the parade.”

WindowsXPisBest@psn 1,595 Report post Posted September 7, 2019 lol, maybe a dummy gun. but I still find it interesting to see a 37mm Sherman.
Teslashark 73 Report post Posted September 17, 2019 The historic photo suggests a broom indeed... Oh well, it’s an eunuch tank. I guess if we want to go the WARGAMING way and make it somewhat combat (and premium) effective, a Japanese 47mm is probably in order. Or, just be lazy and restore a
tiger7742 260 Report post Posted June 15, 2020 (edited) I don't know about this though, it kinda looks like a broomstick. But when looking at the hole that the stick is supposed to stick out, it seems to be kinda big... I remember that when I went to the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution last summer (or last last summer), it just said that this is a M4A2 that is left behind. The thickness of the stick sort of looks like a M2 browning but it seems to be much longer. I guess the best way to add this tank is to make it a april fools event vehicle (That maybe could be earned?), with the turret having a wooden broom stick and a functioning hull machine-gun. This tank should be pretty good at Br. 2.0 due to the .50 cal buff recently and should be a fun tank to play with. Also, Speaking of shermans in the PLA service, the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution do have a captured M4A3 (76)w from the Korean war, dunno if it could be added. Forum Moderator Redmisty 828 Report post Posted June 15, 2020 This Sherman's gun was confirmed by some official stuff of the celebration, just a wooden stick. Not a secret, just a stick. 1 1
tiger7742 260 Report post Posted June 16, 2020 I know, I mean that even if it is in game, the main gun will be the hull machine gun, the turret gun is a stick. It should also have a top mounted .50cal and maybe a coaxial?

tiger7742 260 Report post Posted February 1, 2021 After re-thinking and doing a few testing with the shermans that I have in game, I think maybe this tank can be a fairly decent 1.0/1.3/1.7, due to its roof mounted M2HB 50cal machine gun, which has been proved to be able to pen almost every tank from the side at this B.r (it would basically be a up-armoured M2A2), but may struggle slightly when fighting frontally (the armour of the sherman at this B.R is really effective though, so not much of a problem). I am thinking to make a suggestion next week, so I would again like to ask what everyone thinks.

tiger7742 260 Report post Posted February 2, 2021 (edited) the roof mounted 50.cal the "gun" in the turret is just a stick this is why it is best at 1.0/1.3/1.7 Edited February 2, 2021 by tiger7742
