German cupola/ AA defence machine guns on tanks

Hello all! 

 

Why Germans dont have a tank mounted 360 degree MGs ? Historically all tanks/SPGs had them , mostly added in late period of war. 

 

Americans have 50. cals on their roof in game.  I could say i even die more because of this than real AAs .  

 

 

This needs to be balanced and i hope more people will agree with me.

It is called a Fliegerbeschussgerät (do google search) and yes the majority of them have been missing since the introduction of the German tanks into this game:

Fun fact, Premium Tiger II has a top mounted MG.

 

Someone should make a bug report about missing MG and wrong belt loadout for the MG's.

@KillaKiwi made a post recently about late war MG belts.

So you can see that Gajin does not give a flying F*** about this isse. USA has .50 cals all over, superior cas, Russians have 14.7 and good cas, Germany has nothing, no roof mounted MGs and they are taking the only closed top AA at 6.7. In short German teams will always be bombed to ashes by allied CAS because they lack in the AA department and even in CAS department.

 

ALlies spawn in light tanks (germans have none said Puma or RU which is premium). They cap. Flank, get killed, spawn in CAS, waste the german heavies, die, spawn in T32 and beat the living c*** out of german backup vehicles.

So much this. Last week ik made one for the type 60 sprg not being able to elevate the gun in gunner mode. 

 

It was rejected for not being True to the format,  i understand that for some issues to you need proof, but for the mentioned bug thats nuts.

 

They want a problem discription on MIT level, with proof from primary sources. Good luck with the current top tier,  all are classified.

 

And reality left the building a long time a go, seeing more and more tanks decorated like a fricking bush, which should obstruct all viewports in the vehicle.  Good camo not really practical.

It's a bit of an old post, but I'll answer to the wrongly loaded drum magazin in the german MGs with: I reported this a few days after it first appeared on the PakPuma. Which... was a few days after this was introduced. And still the MG on the Hetzer, PakPuma and regular Puma is buggy for months now. People mistake my unloading of the first (what feels like) 20 rounds as this random annoying firing of MGs to annoy other people. I just want the 50 shots in the freaking drum... so I have to unload those...

Anyways... I gave them video proof of the bugged MG and even stated, that after the commander got replaced (readded to the tank on a cap) it is once again the wrong loadout, so clearly it is not working as intended.

 

I think the report was never even looked at. It got 1 view and I am not sure if that wasn't me.

Just wait , it often takes a while , as far as I can tell they look every friday at new ones , if they arent working at older ones at the moment

I just tested it out and the real bug seems to be that subsequent reloads are you're actually getting WAAAAAAYYYY more than 50 rounds in that mag. You can pull 50 quick burst and then you still have a huge amount of ammo left over for a long burst on a gun that should have about 1200 round ROF.

 

An imprecise way to show just how off the ammo count those guns get on subsequent reloads is to count seconds. At 1200 RPM, the 50 round mag should last about 2.5 seconds. The reload mags for the MG on the Pak Puma can fire for a little less than 8 seconds, about 7.5 seconds. 

 

Which is about three times the amount the 50 round drum should be holding a burst for. 

 

So you might actually be inadvertently praising the bugged state and decrying the correct.

I don't think that they store 2000 rounds inside 50 round drums. I found some information that says it was something like 150 round belts. So the 7,5 sec pay out. So that might be it. However, the fact that I reported this, should have had someone look at it and notice that it is wrong. Hrm...

 They aren't so much drums as they are 50 round belt holders so you don't have to deal with the assistant trying to hang off one side guiding rounds in so its more likely that the belts are stored either in 50 round belts to keep them manageable when fed in or fed out of a loose ammo box in 250 round counts, a pretty heavy and awkward amount. 

 

The 150 round "belt" when reloaded seems to be based off of how often they would have to change out the barrel.
