Game doesn't start on steam

Hello,

 

I've tried to launch the game through steam and after I've pressed play, for the moment it said it's running and nothing happened.

This is the log from the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\War Thunder\.launcher_log"

I've tried restarting pc, deleting files in documents, updating drivers, steam is up to date and all the stuff you are supposed to do that support always says.

Also log says "Couldn't open (...)War Thunder\launcherr.dat(...)" this file exists in this folder but "appinstallconfig.xml" does not. Also I'm not sure where "settings.blk" that is not found is supposed to be. I thought it's in game folder or somewhere in documents but it's not there. I can launch game through "aces.exe" I can either start the launcher (SUPRISE it doesn't work) or press not to start launcher but then it says something about that game is not launched through launcher and I couldn't play online. I haven't risked it so I'm not sure if it works. Right now I'm downloading non-steam version. This is just information for Gaijin that something is wrong. If needed I can provide more details.

did you try running the launcher.exe with admin privileges ?

you say the launcherr.dat is present in the game folder - it's not a 0 byte file, right ?

 

(the settings.blk is IN the launcherr.dat ^^ and the appinstallconfig.xml is a file for

a different starting platform i assume (Arc Games) so it's not needed on a Steam

or standalone install)

 

since you are already downloading the standalone client you should have a working

launcherr.dat in the standalone game folder. you may get your Steam install running

by copying the launcherr.dat from the standalone client folder into the WT Steam game

folder overwriting the existing (maybe faulty) launcherr.dat

I've tried running as admin and it didn't work. I've uninstalled steam version before downloading standalone launcher so I can't try copying launcherr.dat. Also it wasn't 0 bytes it was around 1MB.
