After delaying the 2S25 in the early 90ies for problems that mostly stemmed financial issues, the finally accepted 2S25 into service with Air Forces elite VDV. Despite more than 10 years of a difference between them, the “newer” modification features few changes and basically the same antiqued FCS that was outdated by Russian standards in the early 90ies and outdated by NATO standards by the early 80ies.

The primary gunner’s primary sight in the 1A40M-1. The 1A40 in itself was a development from the TPD-K1 with most changes being related to the FCS, the most notable being a new manual lead indicator. It also has a slightly improved laser range finder, when compared to the TPD-K1M. The 1A40M-1 allows the gunner to manually enter data from the DVE-BS. This sight was also used in the T-72BA. The commander also has the ability to use the 2A75 including ATGMs, from his sighting complex, the 1K13-3S. However, only the gunner has access to the manual backup controls. The gunner also has access to what I assume to be the 1K13-49 as the TD’s primary sight for night time affairs and it functions as a backup day time sight. However, the Ru wiki and an old version of the manufacturer's site, state it has the TO1-KO1R ‘Buran’. This sight might be related to the night sight on the T-90, TO1-KO1. I’m not sure how likely this is, due to the processes of the PL-1. The PL-1 is absent on T-90. One of the two changes to the FCS it had was the L-4A spotlight was replaced by the PL-1 IR laser pulse beamer which is mounted in the same position. 1K13-49 is only stabilized on the vertical plane.
2S25 most likely uses the 2E42-2 from the T-72B Obr 1989, given that it’s stated horizontal traverse rate is 24 Degs/S and 3.5 vertical. These numbers match the previous one mentioned.
Additionally it now has the DVE-BS meteorological mast which detects changes in wind speed and automatically feeds information into the ballistic computer. The major external change was the sloping of the UFP was increased.
Like the earlier variation of the 2S25, Mod 2006, carries the long recoil 2A75 125-mm smoothbore cannon. Unlike other Russian tanks from this time, IE T-90A and T-80UE-1, 2S25 cannot load the new 3BM59 and 3BM60. Seeing the gunner’s stations shows that the ammunition selector panel that only has options for 3BM9, 3BM12, 3BM15, 3BM22, 3BM26, 3BM32, 3BM42, and 3BM48. The same is true for HEAT-FS showing only 3BK12, 3BK14, and 3BK18. HE-Frag is limited to the vintage 3OF26. 2S25 primary ATGM is the 9M119 ‘Svir’.

Like the earlier variation, the new one uses the 2V-06-2S 510Hp and the same transmission that was used on the BMD-3. This combination gives it impressive maneuvering capabilities that allow it to do 70 km/h in both directions and 28.3 Hp/t ratio.
Despite being frequently viewed as a light tank and being 18 tons, 2S25s are actually noticeably taller than Russian MBTs. This probably leads to better crew conditions.

The UFP design on the later BMD-4M likely originates from 2S25.

Despite the Russian Air Force only purchasing 20-50 of these SPGs, they have become one of the most iconic pieces of modern light armor. For whatever reason, be it cost or design problems, in 2010, production was ended. 2S25 would undergo some much needed upgrades and have a new variant known as 2S25M Sprut-SDM1

Why not just propose Sprut-SM1 (also could be as a module upgrade) which features thermal sights also for the commander, which is a much more important feature for a top tier scout vehicle?

I already have

+1 Would be a great light tank for 10.0 :)

10.0? You must be joking! It'd be the only 10.0 without thermals in a BR where you either have them or you're useless and dead.

given it doesn't have them and with how Gaijin  undertiers vehicles from other nations this could be 8.7 or max 9.0. I support.

Maybe it's already in the line as Gaijin mentioned in the post about the event vehicle BMD-4 that more BMD-family vehicles will come to the tech-tree.

It's possible as it's unlikely for Russia to receive another MBT for the time being

Similar to the role of CV90120, but Russian.

Yeah but well below the 90120 at like 9.3 or 9.7

it's 125mm Dragun variant.

Probably not for awhile. That proposal has never been publicly reveled and that advertisement for it must be using an early prototype or something because that picture is just a BMP-3 chassis with a 2S25 turret.

Not the advertised Dragoon chassis and 2S25M turret. Russia's last LT will likely be the 2S25M, for the time being.

With that same gun and ammunition (3BM42, 9M119, 3OF26) of a top tier MBT? That sounds like 10.0 minimum. For comparison both the Centauro MGS and the CV90120 use ammo as potent as the top tier MBT's in their respective trees and both are currently 10.7.

Maybe if it didn't fire what was only recently the best ammunition in the Russian tree I could understand it being placed at 9.3 but if the OP is correct and it receives the top shells it could fire irl then it should be face with tanks of similar firepower.

I'd like to see this vehicle in the game as well but I don't think it needs the crutch of a BR lower than 10.0.

With no thermals and and an 8.5 second reload? I can't see it being above 9.7.
