Graphics glitching after patch 1.93.2.13


Is anyone else having a graphics flickering glitch after today's update? Need to know so I can rule out it being an OS X 10.11.6 thing.

 

Happens constantly the garage, in test flight and in battle. Doesn't seem to affect fps, but then that's already low anyway. The actual glitch seems to be very random in what's shown and when (it's not always the same glitched piece of the ground/vehicle shown) and the frequency of the glitch is not regular.

 

Flying it seems to happen when the ground is in view on the screen in 3rd person, nothing when looking upwards or in the virtual cockpit.

In naval it seems to take place when one is near land and the land is in view. Does not seem to happen when looking through the binoculars/gun sight view.

In ground forces it just doesn't seem to stop, is visible when looking down the vehicles sights and in third person.

 

Few examples should be attached. Since it's probably only visible for a fraction of a second its hard to screenshot. Trying to grab frames with the game's inbuilt screenshot facility (F12) doesn't work and may get rid of the glitch! Sadly I don't have the ability to do a video of it taking place.

Sad. I can't update beyond El Capitan because of programs I need for work. So I did the launch in low resolution workaround (which was perfectly fine) and then got this! Just need to document it as much as possible so a decent bug report can go in (especially now I know it's not OS version specific).

 

Right, a bit more investigation in test flights.

 

Problem does occur in cockpit and the virtual HUD view, but happens a lot less.

 

Glitch does not occur as much when the land is not on the screen (i.e. looking out to sea or up into the sky).

 

Glitch does not take place over sea away from land. A certain distance from land it doesn't happen even if looking at land (though still need to measure how far away that is).

 

In naval the glitch starts to happen in 3rd person at around 3km from the nearest island in the test drive.

Well, for what it is worth, for me the problem on the Windows PC disappeared after one flight.

Since then I logged out and into the game several times and all is well.

But as I experienced the problem once, it is clearly not iOS-specific.

Oh that's brilliant. So glad to hear you haven't got it any more! Clearly not completely OS specific, but obviously more problematic for Mac users than PC.

Will make a bug report when I get time, if people in this thread could pop there and put their system specs into the report when it goes live then we might have more chance of the devs looking into it (eventually).

Same here! Had the resolution issue which is still not fixed, updated to Catalina and the very next update the game is glitching so hard it's unplayable again.

And all this is happening when I have premium time for once. Unreal.
For christ sake Gaijin, please purchase 1 macbook for your testers and just run the game on it for 5 min in QA before releasing updates.

And I don't know if Gaijin actually does test on macOS but if not they should because these bugs we've been having recently are just glaringly obvious as soon as you start the game.

I occupy Captain 10.13 the only problem I have is with the Premium Decal and it's pretty annoying. Game since 2014 and in all this years Gaijin has given little importance to the Mac to solve problems, about all the latest operating system. That's why I didn't want to change since the one I'm in it is more stable. Insist is not a problem of our Mac but of Gaijin and its developers. I hope it will be compensated to Premium Users who cannot connect and those who have had problems and will be compensated accordingly for the delay. (by now it should have been fixed)

That's not a Mac only problem, that's just a game wide issue (affects both PC and Mac users).

Of course they do, but you do realise that despite most Macs looking the same there are multitudes of differences between hardware and firmware just across several years of Macbook Pro (as an example)? To test something completely they'd need to buy every model of Macbook Pro, Macbook, Macbook Air, iMac and iMac pro (and some other stuff that I'm not aware of) since at least early 2015 (probably older).

 

I'm still on El Capitan (10.11.6 which isn't even supported by Gaijin any more), the game works apart from these latest bugs and has worked consistently with only a few hitches since 2015. Surely that's not a bad track record?

 

Just have to make a bug report and hope they get a chance to investigate and fix soon.

Discussing with fellow TM about what causing this.  Does not look like the typical client bug.

 

Meanwhile, please try what @YimYum  did, reinstall game.
