He 115 "T 2" for Sweden

Hello War Thunder pilots, today here's a suggestion for a low tiers Swedish bomber.

History:

As the Swedish T 1 (Heinkel HD16) wasn't very efficient, the Air Force was starting to look for a better replacer in 1938. Another Heinkel design was choosen: the He 115, and 12 A-2 variant planes were ordered in summer 1938. They were delivered in 1939 and were assigned to the F2 Wing based at Hägernäs. The plane was very appreciated by Swedish crews as the plane revealed itself to be a sturdy machine that behaved well both in air or on water. They contributed a lot to ensure the Sweden neutrality, and were intended to perform torpedoing, but also classic bombing, smoke screening and reconnaissance.

Read more about their use on this fantastic website right here.

Service in the Royal Norwegian Navy Air Service:

Fun facts:

Designed as part of a competition in which the Blohm und Voss Ha 140 took part, the He 115 made its initial flight in 1938 and managed, in the following two years, to establish eight world records in payload and distance that can be crossed.

About 400 He 115s were built, all for Germany.. except 18, which were delivered to Norway and Sweden. Some planes of the 382 built for German service ended in the hands of the Finnish Air Force, Royal Bulgarian Air Force.. and also Royal Air Force!

  • A low tiers seaplane for Sweden
  • Includes two Norwegian liveries that Norwegian pmlayers would enjoy, as Norway isn't very represented in War Thunder
  • Would be an interesting plane to pilot in EC battles for anti ship missions
  • Could participate to seaplane events

I'm pretty sure the Swedish T 2's, like with most Swedish aircraft, was rearmed with 8mm Ksp m/22's and did not retain German machineguns.

There are very good pictures of the plane under Swedish colours, could you try to identify the nose machine gun please?

Confirmed! They were 8 mm m/22-37R.

Not from my sources.

I have the weapons manual somewhere on my drive.

(Edit: your sources most likely refers to the German 115, which could carry 5x 250 kg bombs, 3 in belly, 2 under the wings.)

There's a high probability, yes.

Cheers
