It's been installed since 1988, so that is not a GPS antenna. A picture of the F-4EJ Kai with the XGCS-2? Just performing aerodynamics and separation tests with dummy bomb, not real bomb. F-4EJ Kai's GCS-1? No ground attack ability due to seeker's performance F-4EJ Kai's AGM-62 or AGM-65? When producing the F-4EJ, all equipment was removed, and no functions were added even in EJ Kai. Their unwillingness to disclose what info is missing is because they have no legitimate answer to give out. Either the Type 10 is coming this patch or Gaijin is holding back content for Japan for absolutely no good reason. As for the F-4EJ Kai I'm even more on the fence about it for 1 big reason. What does it add over the current F-4EJ? GCS-1s, AAM-3s, and a better radar. For starters if Gaijin wanted to add GCS-1s we already have a perfectly good platform for that in the form of the F-1. Finally we have the most likely reason why we might see an EJ Kai which is the upgraded radar. If we are to see the EJ Kai it will likely start as an intermediary step where they add the rest of the capabilities later. This would give Japan a pulse doppler radar to compete with the British and USN phantoms. Perhaps they would give it AIM-7F's too and maybe AIM-9Ls if we see AAIR missiles. The regular EJ could carry both AIM-7Fs and AIM-9Ls, but I have a feeling that Gaijin wants to keep the EJ as an introductory Phantom to teach phantom combat and the use of SARH missiles. I really can't decide if the prospect of a new radar would be enough for Gaijin to thrust the EJ Kai into the game way too early while missing the iconic AAM-3. However people were pointing out that there was a Japanese Phantom in the A-5C devblog. There is absolutely no possible way to know if this is an EJ Kai because the perspective and low resolution. It could just be an EJ as dev blogs often have rival vehicles to contrast what is being shown. As for the economy it does seem like a decent tell that we will see some new top tier content. The J-7E which was literally added last patch is going down in RP cost right as CN is getting a new premium jet. The current Type 99 is going down in RP cost and it's confirmed that a new one is coming. The J-35D is going down in RP cost and it's practically confirmed that the Viggen is coming with how much hinting is going on there as well as the leaked decal. At the same time, both the Type 16 and Type 93 are going down in cost as well as the Ta-Se and So-Ki being dropped in rank and RP cost. It is similar to the radar of the current FGR. can track targets that fly lower than you. and ignoring ground clutter. but, can't track very low speed target.
 I know it's infrared guided but how does it get it's lock? From the computer? What about Range? Etc... 1つはRCCD(Release point Computing with Continuous Data:投下点計測計算)で、レーダーに目標へのロックオンを続させて目標データを更新しつつ、ステアリングコマンドにしたがって飛行すると自動的に投下される。もう1つRCID(Release point Computing with Initial Data:投下点初期値計 算)で、いったんレーダーに目標をロック オンさせて目標初期値を取り込み、ステアリングコマンドにしたがって飛行すると自動的に投下される。 Edited August 26, 2021 by _David_Bowie_
 When I was writing the report, I found the source (Weapon Import List in Japan, and World Air Power Journal Volume 23) that J/AWG-11 was similar to the early AN/AWG-11 without PD function, and I wrote a report based on that source. I wrote in that report that J/AWG-11 should be similar to Early AN/AWG-11 without P/D, But they didn't, they just copy and paste the FGR's AN/AWG-11 radar. Ah so basically, the current functionality we have with the F-1 is what the F4-EJ Kai will be like? Or is it more advanced and better at tracking things, especially stuff like slow moving helicopters?

F-4EJ Kai is use F-16A/B's APG-66J radar. it has look-down and shoot-down functions, and can use AIM-7F Sparrow.

Being able to lock on targets a bit under the nose of the aircraft? Does this work in conjunction with PD as well so an aircraft can lock on and fire without necessarily having to travel directly at the target? Also, does this mean still that it has better "resolution" to lock on to slow moving targets like helicopters thanks to it being a newer radar? Sorry lots of questions, especially now that the EJ Kai might be coming sooner rather than later.

It is similar to the radar of the current FGR. can track targets that fly lower than you. and ignoring ground clutter. but, can't track very low speed target.
Fireraid233 4,274 Report post Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) How does the GCS-1 bomb kit work? I know it's infrared guided but how does it get it's lock? From the computer? What about Range? Etc...

Summary of arguments and rebuttals
Picture of the JDAM on the F-4EJ Kai?
it is just for display.
Is the ADTW's F-4EJ's new antenna is GPS antenna?
It's been installed since 1988, so that is not a GPS antenna.
A picture of the F-4EJ Kai with the XGCS-2?
Just performing aerodynamics and separation tests with dummy bomb, not real bomb.
F-4EJ Kai's GCS-1?
No ground attack ability due to seeker's performance
F-4EJ Kai's AGM-62 or AGM-65?
When producing the F-4EJ, all equipment was removed, and no functions were added even in EJ Kai.
