  1. 1. How would you rearrange german tank destroyer lines in the tech tree?

    • German tech tree is fine as it is
      4
    • Option 1 (Light tanks/IFVs after light TDs and ATGM TDs after heavy TDs)
      35
    • Option 2 (Light tanks/IFVs after heavy TDs)
      3
    • Radical new proposal for rearranging these 2 lines in the tech tree (specify in the comments)
      4

This is an idea to change the lines around and move certain vehicles from one to another so the tree makes more sense. Currently there are light tanks mixed in with ATGM TDs and some other light tanks are just loners at the total opposite side of the tech tree.

Here are 2 options how it could be resolved.

Firstly, these 2 lines would be moved next to each other in either case but it's not that important.

Option 1: Light tanks/IFVs are moved after light TD line and ATGM TDs, including JPz 4-5, are moved after heavy TD line.

Option 2: Light tanks/IFVs are all moved to a separate line after Jadgtiger. So we would have half heavy tank destroyer line and half Light tank/IFV line.

I'm uncertain of leKPz M41 position here but that's a relatively minor issue. For tech tree nuances it might come before Jadgtiger.

What do you guys think? Is the tech tree fine or is it just a mess? What would you do?

I favor not combining the lights with any of the tankdestroyer lines. Just to keep it Nice and Clean. Separate them as a vehicle class.

The Marder 1a3 could have some problems since the 20mm has low penetration. Steelbeast lists it at 60mm point blank maybe 100m no indications of angle. So even point blank ussr mediums are safe from the side. So it only has 4 MILAN ATGM s to engage tanks.

Jaguar 1a3 is basically what we have in the rkjpz 2 hot, wiki states that the conversion of the rakjpz 2 with the hot missile turned it into the jaguar 1. The jaguar 2 carries the tow 1 (630mm) or 2.(900mm)

They are just examples.

However, sources differ from how many ATGMs Marders have, I've seen 4, 5 or even 7.

Jaguar 1A3 was a further development of the raketenjadgpanzer concept than rakjpz 2 HOT and even Jaguar 2. From the RakJPz 2 HOT the upgrades were extra armour, new optics, thermal imaging and it can get it's hands not only on HOT 2, but also HOT 3 if necessary.

Suggestion edited with better visuals and up-to-date information and slightly restructured for easier understanding while the core suggestion remains the same.

Unnecessary "addition of probable future vehicles for better visuals and understanding" removed.

If option 1 was done I would be happy but I would also like to see a separate light tank line if possible eventually. Then there could either be a heavy TD line and a light TD line or one line with anti-tank guns and one with support guns (like the Sturmtiger, brummbar, Hummel, Stuh 42, and others like the Wespe).

For what we have right now, Option 1 is a brilliant idea. It deals with the current disorganised mess cleanly and efficiently, and the resulting two lines make much more sense for both progression and each line’s underlying concept. Of course, if we were to get some more light vehicles, a dedicated line for those would be really nice, but right now this solution is miles ahead of what we have and it can’t come soon enough.

Option 1 is almost going to be implemented

The only difference is that Jpz 4-5 will stay in the light tank line

Yes, I'm very happy to see this. Even though I would put 4-5 in Jadgtiger branch as well, it's far above what we had until now.

As the German Light Tank/Tank Destroyer lines have been previously restructured,

Moved to Implemented Suggestions. :salute:
