The ZSU-23-4M5 modernization project is based on the same ideas as the ZSU-23-4M4, but receives a number of new equipment. Both combat vehicles have the same fire control systems, weapons, etc. The only difference between the "Shilka-M5" is the presence of an optical-location channel as part of the fire control system. Due to this, a certain expansion of the combat capabilities of the self-propelled gun is ensured, since the optical-location system is able to ensure combat operation even in conditions of strong interference interfering with the radar station.

In the Shilka-M5 project, it is proposed to equip the self-propelled gun with an additional television sight and a laser rangefinder. This equipment is integrated with other onboard systems, so that the crew has at their disposal a complex of optical and radar means that complement each other.

According to the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant brochure the Shilka-M4 can already operate under active ECM ( electronic counter measure ) environment :

 

 

As for the Shilka-M5 i am aware of the differences but  as far as i can tell to this day it has remained in the stage of proposal / project , nothing concrete has been shown .

Just re-found this poll and this definitely needs to be added, the yenisei's radar is so bad, and russia had no way to deal with helicopters that are further than like 2 or 3km plus the drones now are impossible to deal with and CAS spam. Russia really needs a stinger type AA like this one ASAP.

I totally agree!

Now we have Strela 10M which is equipped only with SAMs, and we definitely need hybrid platform with guns for the Russians, exactly like Gepard 1A2.

We need more adequate anti heli system, too! I tested out Strela and she can’t  lock helies above 1km which make it useless.

But the Shilka is equipped with “Igla”. We had it already in game, 10g, ECCM, 6km range, it’s more or less with the same performance as FIM-92 in the game,

I don’t see why we don’t have it, it would be great addition at 9,7 as the german counterpart.

The Strela-10 in game doesn't have the improved 9M333 missile.
