Fatal Error on Metal Renderer on launch


macOS version: 10.15.4

WT version: 1.97.2.15

 

This error appeared today 21. May 2020 out of nowhere as there was no update (or maybe just a silent update?). I discovered that it happens when using Metal renderer (which was working perfectly until this day), switching to OpenGL does not reproduce this error:

 

FATAL ERROR

Failed to compile shader, error Compilation failed: 

program_source:58:247: error: cannot reserve 'buffer' resource location at index 8
kernel void main0(constant MyConstantBuffer& _598 [[buffer(2)]], device g_dt_output& g_dt_output_1 [[buffer(6)]], const device g_h0_input& g_h0_input_1 [[buffer(7)]], const device g_omega_input& g_omega_input_1 [[buffer(8)]], device g_ht_output& g_ht_output_1 [[buffer(8)]], uint3 gl_GlobalInvocationID [[thread_position_in_grid]], uint3 gl_WorkGroupID [[threadgroup_position_in_grid]])

(I cannot attach any screenshots not clog files as I get the error "You are only allowed to upload 20.48kB.". Can any mod please remove this limitation? :008:

I don't have this upload limitation though? I managed to upload a 4.8MB screenshot.

 

I think my error is the same problem as yours.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)

2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB

 

  1. I use an eGPU with my MacBook Pro to play games and it's been great. The latest update has cause some errors though. The game keeps launching in low resolution.

      This is not normal. I've always been able to play with almost setting at max except the resolution where I keep it at 1440x900 for my 13" display.
  2. I click OK and the loading images before the hanger begins. However, before I can enter the hanger, the game.app (not the client.app) gives a FATAL ERROR;

How do I attach the clog file? I've attached the screenshot of the FATAL ERROR.

I normally remove everything and then launch the game until it crashes and you will then see the new clog file there. :-)

 

Should I upload the clog_cef, .dmp and bpreport.log files too?

Done! I just uploaded everything I got in the folder except whatever the website wouldn't accept.
