Spent 1mil SL to create squad for nothing

This game is terrible at explaining what the requirements to play WWM are. Although I've read tidbits saying that it's possible to play without being in a squad, I read another tidbit from an official post saying you could create a squad by yourself to get the being-in-squad benefits of the mode. So I did. I created a training squad. Then I went to join WWM and it says:

Well I mean having 1 man squadrons could essentially make it so you can exploit the system by making the 1 man squadron lose and thus boosting the stats of the actual squadron

From the Wiki:

The mechanism of participation in battles in a squad is not particularly different from the mechanics of participation in random battles, except that the possibility of assembling a squad of up to 10 participants - this mechanics works only in battles in World War.

My Bad, Minimum Of 10.
 

Nvm, I Was Right:

Only squadrons with more than 20 members are able to create an operation in World War mode.

I think, but am not certain, that that refers to the size of the in-game squad, not the squadron itself. Those squads don't have to be composed of members of the same squadron (gotta love the terminology Gaijin has chosen here, could have gone with platoon, battalion, clan or anything not f'ing ambiguous with the other in-game squad mechanism).

 

If I misread that line, it needs to be fixed to be clear it's referring to squadrons, not in-game squads.

It's a good thing I stopped playing high tier games a while ago and have been playing BR 7 since, or else 1 mil SL might bother me in more than principle. I recently finished researching Ariete from playing BR 7 games, probably 40% research efficiency or something overall. I bought it and trained the crew, but I'm still I'm like "meh" and haven't played it yet. :P

If you don’t expect me on dischord or anything special, I wouldn’t mind being part of a lets-cut-wwm-grind-in-1/2-and-only-that squadron. In fact that would be perfect for me. Let me know that squadron name and I’ll apply for membership this evening. Mind you, my only interest is to cut grind in half. I’m talking to my wife during my WT sessions so I won’t be on any dischord.

I asked about the same topic on another tread. So is it confirmed you can't join WWM if you are part of a squadron with Les than 20 active player, without leaving it. ? 

 

Sounds stupid that you must leave your squadron but single players can join battles. Leaving your squadron cuts squadron vehicle research , wich is the point. 

 

You would think it would be possible to join irrespective .

You don't have to leave your squadron. You can still join random battles like a "Lone Wolf".

As An ACASS Member I Still Join Random Battles? I Don't See How You Wouldn't Be Able To.
