Honestly I am very glad that the mode is running without problems since the restart.

 

I would love to have an official statement about star 2 and 3. Will both be redone after star 10 or will you just gift them to the players?

What I'm most intrigued/worried about is the fact that I have deliberately skipped star 1. I wanted to start on the 3rd of July (which is exactly when the servers died), which means that the 2nd and 3rd star are also out of the question. At this point, I'm not even going to try and start the event because it seems like I only have 7 stars available to get, and 8 are required for the M60 AMBT. Not to mention the fact that Gaijin didn't give us a heads up for the 4th star, so I can't get that one either. I can't afford to pay for the stars, so what am I supposed to do now? The event was totally destroyed by the lack of working servers.

Just played the new WWM with the changed rules (no markers) for the first time, in an own operation with my squadron. We won every single battle and the whole operation. So kind of a first impression review:

We didn't encounter any technical issues, besides one client crash that might not have been related to WWM.

I really like that markers are gone.

Matches have way too many players in them for my taste. Those are like 32vs32 matches? And that on rather small maps. The sky is sometimes so full of planes that they accidentally collide with each other or bomb friendlies because like 5 go for the same ground target. The ground is also super full. Something like 16vs16 matches would allow actual tactical gameplay and not this random ADHD constant shooting.

I don't know if this is always like that or if our opponent squadron was just stupid but the Israel site had such an overwhelming air force. We only had enemy planes in the first match and after that our airforce was just stomping their ground units, their radar AA was totally outnumbered and overwhelmed.

On the ground the egypts seemed to have quite an advantage with their BMP-1 spam versus our M48A1 and AMX-13-90 that both have such a huge bullet drop that you often miss and BMP-1 can fire so much faster. Maybe that was just a me issue of not having the better tanks.

Well then. So I need an explanation to this.

Our clan had been against the infamous -EBiK- clan from the start of today's event. For three hours. We were almost guarantee to win that operation.

Suddenly that operation was gone. We found that none about that operation was count. Like it had been reset by someone.

We suspect someone did something fishy to give EBiK an advantage.

Please explain this.

PC player feedback: Sooo... this was the first day since the start of the event where I was actually able to play without single server issue and complete the star. Seems like the main problem which was messing with server hamster is gone. My only hope now is that we get a fair chance to finish Stars 1,2 and 3 again since before the game was either unplayable (No. 1), or the servers managed to drop before I could even start playing (No. 2) or there was a break from event due to server issues (No. 3). In my opinion we should look at today as if we were doing the Star 1 since realistically today is the very first day of this WW season where this mode is actually playable and (at least for me) working as intended. Thank you very much for your effort in past days to fix the issues.

Feedback.

 

Mode is chaos.

CAS ruin the battles, they can see your spawn location and they just keep spamming bombs there, most games with planes your team can't even respawn.

I started today for first time due to server errors in past, now i am doing star 4, and never had chance for star 1,2,3.

 

Mode would be ok-ish for Clan wars, maybe. However it is not for EVENT. You can't force public players, regualr player to play with clans of 15-20 people. They always overrun them. It isn't fun or fair.

World War would probably be good with two coordinated teams, it isn't when you have randoms try to do something. And thats what brings people to new games and mode. FUN and something they enjoy in, World War isn't this. 

Event is pure grind, time is too short and it also have problems mentioned above. So in this is why they should just do normal summer event, not this.

Just finished today's star by fighting solely on the Egyptian side; here are my impressions of the event.

Pros:

-overall had alot of fun with the more historical lineups; I hope WT as a whole gravitates towards more historical matchups in its regular gamemodes. 

-The star was fun to get; I never felt I had to push myself to the point of unenjoyment to grind it out and that is a huge plus for me.

-The different gamemodes were an enjoyable change of pace. I hope that convoy and defense missions will get added to regular ground rb.

-the infantry defenses and increased playercount made battles feel much more alive; I hope regular ground rb introduces and builds upon these concepts

-the server was very stable; I have had no issues in this area.

 

Cons:

-the plane spam is a bit much. Whatever the cause, planes never seem to come in moderation; when they are in a battle there are always multiple waves and swarms of planes and it forces the defending team to have to almost entirely give up on the ground battle and focus purely on spawning spaa to deal with all the planes buzzing about. I think the mode would be improved if both ground and air battles could more easily occur at the same time and in more equal parts.

-The maps felt a touch too small and enclosed for the player count. I think WWM and ground rb as a whole would benefit from making maps a touch bigger and more open.

-I couldn't find a way to look at the strategic map for any given operation without first participating in a battle and selecting "stay in operation." Perhaps I missed a button, but I would like the ability to see the strategic situation of the team I am fighting on before I join a battle; it would add immersion.

I believe they already stated that they are going to repeat the first couple days at the end of the season.

look at this, Star number and time set. I guess they will let us finish our first star!

Just played two matches as an individual player to experience the AA vs planes meta from the AA side:

In both matches I killed more planes than they killed me. I only played the ZSU-57-2, so radar guided which helped a bunch. We lost the first match because we had to cap a point but were too busy with the planes and we won the second because they had to cap our point and apparently didn't manage to do so.

I don't know the total number of vehicles but it's pretty much a game of attrition of letting the US side run out of planes which is easier if there are more AA than planes. It's a bit stupid to have the first phase of the operation be "let the enemy waste it's planes" but it works I guess. Maybe there should be a limit of how many players can be in planes so that not that many are in planes at any given time.

No problems today. Good balance on both sides (Maybe the T55 is a little bit too strong against the M60), squadron won operations on both sides (Obviously playing as Israel is slower so we rather farm ops as egypt as fast as we can). Maybe too many automatic battles now? Rushing with helis is actually harder now.

Pretty good.

Maybe if we could get some info on how ELO gain is working now, looks like farming battles instead of operations is the way to go.
