Hello ladies and gentlemen, today I bring you a very interesting BeNeLux techtree idea for the future of War Thunder!

(Incase you do not know, the BeNeLux is the combination of Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg)

This is techtree is all about the Rank 0 idea!

We've seen Rank 0 pop up here and there as something Gaijin could do in the future, and considering we want to expand our BeNeLux project as far as possible, we've decided to make a Rank 0 techtree for the air forces!

First let's get the whole idea of Rank 0 out of the way. So what is Rank 0 and how do we see it from an ingame point of view.

Rank 0 is normaly viewed as just that, a new rank that it placed before Rank I, and is called Rank 0.

This makes sense, but when you look at the idea of Rank 0, that being WW1 and interwar period vehicles, then a single rank where all of these vehicles are located is way to small.

That is why we have changed the concept of Rank 0 a bit. Let me explain.

Our Rank 0 techtree is split up in three Ranks. So this techtree alone has Rank I up to Rank III. And the BR range is from 1.0 till 3.7.

Let's say this techtree get's added into the game, what would happen to the current Rank I vehicles?

Because this Rank 0 idea is already from Rank I to Rank III, then we want to simply move all the current vehicles up in Rank and BR.

So the current ingame Rank I BR 1.0 vehicles will now be Rank IV BR 4.0 vehicles. And for example a Rank VI BR 10.0 will now be a Rank IX 13.0.

So all the vehicles currently ingame will just be moved up in Rank and BR, and will not be affected in any other way.

Now that we've explained the idea a bit, let's show you the techtree!

Spoiler

We can see that we still have our techtree set up in the same way as the normal ground forces techtree. The first vehicles you unlock are only armed with machineguns (7.62mm or above) so this gameplay is very much a shoot and run one. Just like the current Rank I battles it tends to turn chaotic very fast.

Rank II and III dive more into heavy MG's and 37mm cannons and such.

Also something to clear up, we've got those color explanations in the top right. These are present on all our techtrees, but for this example none of those vehicles are present.

So you can ignore the three colors.

Here you can find all the vehicles present in this techtree. We normaly only cover the special/unique vehicles in these posts, but because this techtree is rather small we are going to cover all the vehicles.

In the early 1920s, the Netherlands did not feel a need to acquire any armored vehicles. There was already one armored car operating in the Dutch army, based on an Ehrhardt Kraftwagen-Flugabwehrkanone taken from the Germans in 1918. These vehicles only served the purpose of familiarizing the army with the use of armored vehicles.

For the same purpose, an improvised vehicle, made to look like an armored car, was built in 1924 in a local army workshop.

For your poll on the second question you should add an "Yes, only if the other nations receive Rank 0" option to make it more transparent.
