The destroyer Premuda started life as the Dubrovnik in the Yugoslavian Navy.  She was built by Yarrow Shipbuilders in Glasgow, being laid down in 1930 and completed in 1932.

As built she had the following specifications:

Displacement (Full):  2,439 tons

Length:  113.2m

Beam:  10.67m

Draft: 4.1m

Machinery:  2 Parsons steam turbines and 1 Curtis steam turbine, 3 Yarrow boilers, 48,000 h.p.

Max Speed:  37 kts

Armament:  4 x Skoda 140mm, 2 x Skoda 83.5mm, 6 x Skoda 40mm, 2 x Skoda 15mm, 6 x 533mm torpedo tubes.

Crew: 240

The Dubrovnik was captured by Italy in 1941 during the invasion of Yugoslavia.  As the Dubrovnik was a modern and highly capable destroyer Italy determined to use the vessel in the Regia Marina.  The Italians commenced a major refit of the vessel and renamed it the Premuda in 1941.  The changes from the refit included a modernized AA suite (which necessitated the removal of the aft deckhouse and emergency bridge), shortening her mainmast, and shortening her funnels.  Her main battery was kept, but the changes to the AA suite radically altered the rest of her armament.  Her armament in Italian service was as follows:  4 x 1 - 140/56 Škoda, 1 x 2 - 37/54 Breda 1938, 4 x 1 - 20/65 Breda 1940, 2 x 3 - 533 TT

The refit was completed in 1942 and the Premuda spent the next year escorting convoys and attacking British convoys.  She would also conduct multiple transport missions, ferrying troops to Tunis in North Africa.  The Germans would capture her after the Armistice and use her until scuttling her in 1945.  The wreck would be raised and broken up in 1950.

The advantage of using the Premuda in War Thunder is the Skoda guns should be more effective than the terrible Italian 120mm guns on all of their indigenous destroyers.

+1,although i would prefer the implementation of more italian vessels in the TT before starting to implement captured vessels
BTW i see this as a perfect substitute for the premium soldati class genieri.

+1 as it's not just a captured vessel, but a ship which was widely used by Regia Marina.

Btw I don't see any obstacle not to add both Dubrovnik and Premuda if Yugoslavian tech tree drops, since in Regia Marina it had different secondary/AA armament(much worse in terms of the game, so Dubrovnik will be even better in the tree of its origin).

I would like to see Premuda as a top or pre-top of the first destroyers line, while the second one will have smth postwar like Impetuoso, for example.

There can be another Premuda destroyer btw https://www.marina.difesa.it/noi-siamo-la-marina/mezzi/mezzi-storici/Pagine/PQRS/premuda_esplo.aspx

She was scrapped in 1939.... trying to avoid stuff that didn't survive till the war.  But you should totally do that suggestion  :-)

+1 Interesting background. As a capture ship this one could possibly be a good premium or event ship. :good:

It's a capture ship?

Nevermind, I thought that you said that it was made for capture.

This ship's refit would make a good balanced BR 4.3 Italian DD event vehicle along with Sebenico. Premuda DD guns are decent enough to damage light cruisers like Japanese 140mm guns while Sebenico would make a highly effective AA defense, even more than any DD up to RN Etna level as it have 40mm BoFors AA instead of 37mm Breda AA. Despite only 2 twin mount, it had the effective firepower of 8-10 single 37mm Breda AA guns or 6 37mm Flak Lafette M/42 AA gun in term of DPM and effective range OR even an Octuple Pom-pom but much better

Basically speaking, these 2 ship, Sebenico & Premuda are worthy of added as event vehicle as it cannot be placed as squadron vehicle BUT tech tree would be really nice too.. Both are 4.3 BR capable warship despite some armament difference...

It seems that i need to make some correction and some clarification.... What i meant by it is Sebenico got its AA armament of BoFors were as effective as those single 37mm Breda but in 5-6 single instead (MY BAD) or 3-4 NON-stop Flak Lafette German AA gun and even on par with an octuple Pom-Pom mount....

This ship's AA armament is basically a bit improvement to most current Italian Destroyers with the exception of Comandante with lots of 37mm Breda AA gun and premium Geneire (ex-USA DD with post-war AA refit) that fits it BR on overall combat capabilities unlike some ship that were added into the game...

Currently Italians dont have effective BR 4.7 DD and both Sebenico & Premuda (ex-Yugoslavia armed with 140mm gun) are not enough to be even decent 4.7 as it was similar to the days IJN Yubari were introduced back then... IT starts as BR 4.7 YET got overrated which ended up downtiered to BR 4.3 after the introduction of the weakest early cruisers, HMS Abdiel so far (NO OFFENSE here)

Hence for DD with 140mm gun armed to be placed on BR 4.7 would need at least 7 single or 3 twin 140mm gun in order to at least giving a fighting chance for anyone to use such ships IF there are any....

BASICALLY Italians need both Sebenico & Premuda in game, preferly not as premium for both BUT hopefully one of these 2 would be a tech tree one...

Sadly these guns don't have AP shell as far as i know.. I definitely LOVE using these ship IF these skoda guns have some sort of armor-piercing shell that i didn't know

Hopefully not the same as 120mm BoFors main guns mounted on German K2 frigate and USSR Letuchiy Destroyer which both are misplaced on its BR...

FYI... for only guns with HE shell to be placed such high BR would need at least high rate of fire OR its HE shell would have almost similar pen to HE base fuze shell at mid-range...

Still... Both of these ships are quite decent enough to deter non-Fletcher armor-level destroyers from carelessly closing on it for torpedo attack or guns blazing to death
