Rob_Smith12345 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2020 Been giving the game a go for the first time lately (been registered for a long time but never played until now). I notice that the German crew can only be "recruited" for gold while all other nation's use silver, is this normal ? Does this mean that I will have to essentially run the entire German tech trees with the same 5 crew over and over again with switching them between different vehicle and retrain them for each game ? It's the same for all nations. First few slots cost silver and then it proceeds with gold. And you can use them for every vehicle, crew-exp and skills will be kept, you only Need to pay the qualification fee for each vehicle. You train crews in 2 ways - > When you train a crew to use a vehicle you just need to pay an amount of SL only once for that crew, they remain trained on that vehicle forever, meaning you don't have to train a particular vehicle more than once for a particular crew, even if you train another vehicle on that crew, you can still make them use the previous vehicles free of cost. > You can also train "skills" for your crew, this is done by using crew experience points which you gain by using that crew in a battle. The skills that are trained on any crew last forever, so if you trained the "Targeting" skill to maximum for the gunner, then that skill will apply for every single vehicle that the crew is "trained" to use. If you want to be efficient and not waste SL by training the same vehicle for every crew, then I suggest you plan it out. The way I do it for combined realistic battles is, out of the 5 crew slots that I have, > 2 crews are dedicated to using aircraft, mostly fighter-bombers and ground attackers. So I primarily train skills like "G-tolerance", "stamina" and "vitality" which are important for the pilot, and then I train a bit of the remaining skills too. Suppose, if you train a bomber on any of these crews, then you'll need to invest in skills for your "defensive gunners" too. > The remaining 3 crews are dedicated to using ground vehicles, 1 is an SPAA, the other 2 are a combination of tanks like a tank destroyer+heavy tank or light tank+heavy tank etc. as per my choice. Try to plan out which crews you want to train for what type of vehicles, because fighters require focusing your skills towards the pilot, and bombers mostly need only vitality for pilots as the bombers mostly don't tend to pull heavy g loads, however bombers require training skills like "g-tolerance and stamina" for "defensive gunners" as that will increase the accuracy and precision of your gunners. Training any skill for "defensive gunners" for a fighter plane crew is pointless as fighter planes do not have any defensive turrets, so it'll only be a waste of crew exp points. Hence, training one type of vehicle for a crew will help you in putting more crew exp points towards that crews requirements, in the long term, this will be very efficient and help you get good, highly trained crews by the time you get to higher tiers. So if I understand these work basically the same as wargaming's "free" slots, but instead of a limited number of vehicle slot they go with a limited number of crews instead ? In any case thank you for the reply, back to grinding it is.

Hmm, it's been a while since I played WoT, so I don't exactly know or remember what "free" slots are, but WT's system is much easier to use and less grindy than WoT in terms of leveling up crews.
