The sloop Eritrea was a one off "colonial ship" laid down in 1935 and completed in 1937.  As a "colonial ship" she would support the far flung outposts of Italy.  Thus she came equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system to increase range and a large engineering shop aboard to provide repair support to other Italian vessels.

As built she had the following statistics.

Displacement (Full):  3068 tons

Length:  96.9m

Beam: 13.3m

Draft (Maximum): 4.7m

Machinery:  2 Fiat diesels + 2 diesel-generators, 2 Marelli electric motors 7800 + 1300 = 9100 h.p.

Max Speed:  20 kts.

Armament:  2 x 2 - 120/45 Schneider-Canet-Armstrong 1918-19, 2 x 1 - 40/39 Vickers-Terni 1917, 4 x 1 - 13.2/76

Crew:  234

In 1940-1941 she would receive a small upgrade by replacing the 40mm Vickers with 2 X 2 37/54 Breda 1938.

The Eritrea had an interesting career during the war.  When Italy joined the war in 1940 she was stationed at Massawa as part of the Red Sea Flotilla.  There she would support the Flotilla until the Italian Campaign in East Africa began to go poorly.  Along with the Auxiliary Cruisers Ramb I and Ramb II she evaded a British blockade in February 1941 and made for the Far East, eventually reaching Kobe, Japan.   At first she intended to act as a commerce raider in the Pacific, but the Japanese (still neutral at the time) did not agree to conducting commerce raiding from Japanese ports and kept the vessel in Kobe.  After Japan entered the war they allowed the Eritrea  provide support to cargo submarines coming from Europe.  On 8 September 1943, when Italy declared the Armistice, the Eritrea was motoring between Singapore and Sabang looking to support an Italian cargo submarine (the Commandante Cappellini).  Eritrea received news of the Armistice by picking up the Reuters message about it.  Recognizing the danger the ship was now in from the Japanese she immediately headed at full speed to Colombo to surrender to the British.  After dodging Japanese air and naval units in the area and around Sumatra she made it across the Indian Ocean and was intercepted and escorted to Colombo by ships of the Ceylon Naval Volunteer Force.  Once in Colombo she would support Allied operations for the rest of the war.  Largely providing support to British Submarines.

After the war she was given to France as war reparations.  France used her as a colonial ship as well (under the name Francis Garnier) until 1965.  The Eritrea finally met her fate in 1966 as she was destroyed by a Nuclear test in the Pacific.

I am recommending the Eritrea in her 1941 configuration of:   2 x 2 - 120/45 Schneider-Canet-Armstrong 1918-19, 2 X 2 37/54 Breda 1938, 4 x 1 - 13.2/76.

I agree with you guys.... With current game mechanic & this ship firepower, this ship should be placed as BR 3.3 Destroyer since its capability are on par with HMS Vega which currently placed at 3.7 when it should be 3.3 instead since its an up-armed Churchill version of Italian ship except it don't have torpedo....
