Hungarian Tank Tech Tree

  1. 1. After reading, would you like to see Hungary as an independent nation sometime in the future?

Is there anything special about Hungarian T-72M1 compared to the in-game Finnish one? Like for example I've seen photos of Hungarian T-72M1 equipped with ERA, probably Kontakt-1, maybe smth else?

Just learned this today that the ERA on that T-72 is actually hungarian made, it has 600mm chemical protection, it was made in the early 90s but because they postponed modernizing tanks it was later that they managed to put them on tanks.

At a demo they shot the ERA with a RPG-7V (420mm penetration) and this is the picture of the HIT:

This ERA was put on a T-55 too.

UAZ-469 at Szolnok, in the second picture they use the 9K115-2 Metis-M and in the first one they use the KONKURS launcher.

Hungarian bmp-1 with a 2b9 vasilek mortar. Could be a neat low tier td. 812ic87qr7y51.jpg.c29381b41127f3835756f6

Personally I would rather see hungary as either a italian sub tree or a part of a visegrad group tree.

I see someone posted the BMP-AMB with the 2b9 automatic mortar.

Here are some more pictures of it

Funny thing is, its got a laser rangefinder and it had two modes of firing, one for direct and one from indirect firing that you can choose on the computer.

Specifications:

2B9M 82 mm self-loading mortar
Overall length: 4,115 mm
Barrel length: 1,600 mm
Weight: 632 kg
Calibre: 82 mm
Practical rate of fire: 100-120 rounds per minute
Maximum range: 4,270 m
Elevation: -1 to +89 degree

They made a shell for direct firing, named the BEKM-82 which could penetrate 100mm of armor at 90o.

Here is a MTLB mounted with the DE-82 mortar.

It had laser rangefinder, two firing mode as well as the BMP-AMB.

And they put it on the mercedes unimog as well.

Now this could be an 81mm calibre because hungarians made an 81mm version, now for the 81mm gun they made the BEKM-81 which is the same as the 82 but with 1mm less, it still has the same penetration.

I will post this here if someone is interested in my tech tree.

200402747_hungariantechtree.png.94843719

Please take it with a grain of salt, this is my first tech tree that I had many variation of to make it better and I am holding on it for a long time so now I am gonna post it.

I dont know if should I make a topic about it (what could Hungary bring to the game), maybe I will.

If you have any question about it or the vehicles themselves than feel free to ask.

This is just to show how many vehicles could Hungary bring, I did not put copy paste vehicles, I wanted to put vehicles that Hungary modified ot made.

You won't be able to make a topic in the Other Nations Ground Forces Suggestions about it, because this one we're speaking in already exists.

Not a bad tech tree but I feel like it shows the glaring flaws with the idea of getting a dedicated hungarian tree, even with all the obscure vehicles you managed to find, this tree is still incredibly gappy. I just feel like it would be better off as part of a larger tree. Good job on finding the weird mortar carriers, and rocket launchers.

I know, I did not put tigers, panthers or anything that would make the tech tree better because its just for showing how many tanks Hungary has and what could go into the game, I dont want a hungarian tech tree even though I am a hungarian. I just put vehicles that Hungary modified or developed.

I could have filled the gaps with russian and german tanks but I dont want to make a tech tree I just wanted to show people that yes Hungary has quite the number of vehicles to be added.

And thanks for responding I really appreciate it.

It definitely shows off that they do have a good amount of equipment.

Do you have any better photographs of the Botond B with the nebelwerfer shown in your tech tree? Also would the Strauss monitor not be considered a British vehicle? From everything I have found it seems to have been manufactured in britiain and it even uses a 17pdr.

Sadly the nebelwerfer botond can only be found as a sketch, maybe there is a Haditechnika magazine where they talk more about it, but I could not find one, so there is just a sketch, same with the Nimród Buzogányvető. Both of these vehicles are really rare and they made a really small number of them. Sadly, I dont think there are photograph, maybe there are because I remember reading about the Nimród Buzogányvető that there were really low quality photos that they used to reconstruct the vehicle in a sketch but they did not show any of those photographs.

Now about the Straussler monitor, yes I get the point that it was manufactured in Britain and it has a british gun, but the designer was a Hungarian that fled to Britain.

I too see the point that it was made in Britain but he as a hungarian designed it in 1943 in his own workshop called Straussler hounslow, where only one prototype was built.

Now I am not saying Hungary needs it but it would be cool to have it, a lot of people know straussler in Hungary and really like its wacky and complex way of designing vehicles.

Additionally, some people call it sometimes Straussler Conversion.(I dont know why it has two names)

I created a detailed suggestion for the Hungarian 44M Tas:

If anyone would like to know more about the Tas, the pinnacle of independent Hungarian WW2 tank design, feel free to read my suggestion. Also @DarthGergely, feel free to include a link to my 44M Tas suggestion in this tech tree post under the section about the 44M Tas (just make sure to credit me).

PSZH prototype or FÚG-66 : preseries prototype with the 14.5mm KVPT machinegun, this vehicle can still be found at Kecel-pintér művek.

1188385_59532_PSzH_prototipus.png

We need more pictures, info about this but there are PSZH prototypes with the 20mm IL-10 gun and with the Mig-15 23mm autocannon.

@atta26hu a bit off-topic, but can you tell about possible Hungarian helicopters and their ATGMs?

Hi, sorry for the late response I did not get any notification.

I dont really research helicopters much, but after reading your comment and searching for a bit I found some interesting things and I would be glad to answer you.

MI-17N: it could be armed with9M17P Skorpion, 9M114 Shturm, 9M120 Vikhr missiles but I dont know which did we Hungarians use, we have Shturm missiles which we used in the Mi-24D so probably we used those. and it could be armed with other weapons like rocket pods and bombs...

Mi-24D with its armaments, Shturm missiles can be seen under the rocket pods.

Newly we acquired H145M helicopters.

Airbus-H145M-696x464.jpg

h145m-hungary_pie.jpg

Its equiped with the  HForce weapon system which lets it use multiple weapons from rocket, machinegun pods to missiles

The Hungarians will be arming them with the Nexter NC621 20mm autocannons which can penetrate 20mm of armor at an angle of 30o from 800m, Thales FZ231 rocket pod which is made up of 70mm diameter rockets.

It will be equiped with Spike missiles (which will be acquired around 2023-2025).

Newly acquired H225M.

642ecc07a2c8b698869553.jpg

It uses the same HForce weapon system just like the H145M.

It can use 70mm rocket pods, 20mm autocannons and spike missiles (which will be acquired around 2023-2025).

There are possibly more helicopters and helicopter variants that the Hungarians used with ATGMs. And there are possibly more ATGMs for helicopters, like the hungarian Mi-24D could get konkurs missiles but did the hungarian army use konkurs missiles on the Mi-24D, I dont know, it needs research.

But hopefully I showed something interesting and that it was helpful to you.
