Did Gaijin mess something with the minor update they had a few days ago?

Hi! Im unable to open the game on my MacOS as of this update. Thats an issue. 

Really trying to plan to buy a real desktop so i wont have to deal with the neglected MacOS client. 

If you want CLOG files im not sure if i can get them, as nothing shows in my saves folder anymore.

What OS do you have ? If it's not Catalina, you're f*cked, such as all the other Mac users who don't want to upgrade to Catalina.

Mojave user here. after a couple day break from WT I came back today to find that my game instantly crashes on the first load screen post launch when using the metal renderer. I had been using the metal renderer since it was available and enjoying a boost in fps, but now the game doesn't work no matter what settings I try and configure in the launcher. I have been able to open the game using the Open GL renderer but that is very slow on my computer and it seems like it will be completely removed after this next update to the Dagor engine. Has some recent change simply made metal not work on pre-catalina machines???

Yes, Catalina has some drivers that do not exist on older Mac versions.

 

Post your System info here.

 

At a guess , all Mac made from 2015 and later will work using Catalina.

Some made earlier will work.

Highly unlikely.

 

As you can see in the bug report forums, upgrading the OS has no effect for the majority of users that have tried it.

Not sure. All i know is that apple has a bad reputation of adding useless junk in new updates, making my computer slow. Could try updating but im not too keen on it.

Catalina no longer runs any 32-bit apps, which is anything from about 2014 or earlier. This mostly effects games. I have 39 games in Steam, and after upgrading only 9 still work. I have a couple of other non-steam games as well, none of which work.

 

If WT is the only game you play, or the others you play are recent (>2015) then you should be fine on Catalina. If you run any older must-have stuff, especially things like CS6, google whether they work first.

Thanks for posting that.  

I was assuming too much that players would realize the update would disable some older apps.
