Huge frame rate drops after new update

Just to comment that just had a few matches and response appears fine to me, no worse though the actual initial start up looks very slow and jumpy. Gameplay seems OK, not really any different to previous release - so slowish and marginal, but playable on near minimum settings. Arcade Ground forces.

Post you system specs, no one can help otherwise.

For now, I recommend turning off SSAA in your graphics settings.

Drop the frame by more than 70%. Like 144fps-> 44~60fps

If the frames keep dropping after changing the settings, the GPU overloads when running War Thunder.

I'm using a GTX 1650 super. The highest spec for graphics with SSAA turned off is 144 fps.

Even when I get 90fps, it feels like 15 fps. Only the Desert map didn't have problems so far. Turned off Anti Aliasing, Anisotropy and SSAA.

The latest update patch, 20-nov-2020, has dramatically improved frame rate on my Mac Pro 2013/D300.

Min now gets over 100 fps, typically around 120, Low gets around 75 to 90, and Medium is hovering right around 60. That's with the resolution at 2560 x 1600. I don't see any real issue until I go to High, at which point the frame rates drop to the mid 30's-low 40s. Still playable, but Medium is really quite good.

NVG no longer locks up the system, and my weird "drunk mode" issues seem to have disappeared (I'm convinced that one was logging being dumped in the background).

Oddly, the lobby remains very slow. In Medium I get around 40 fps in the lobby but then jumps to 60 in the game. Normally you'd expect the opposite.

Turning on SSAA, which I normally don't use anyway, drops the fps in half and often crashes it. So I don't use that...

Same here, everything seems to be back to normal again, only tested 2 maps but it looks promising! High settings with 60-90 fps. But I still notice some rendering problems, when shooting rockets they disappear before hitting the target.

I achieve 60fps at Movie settings (at ~1100p, closest to 1920x1200 under default macOS resolution settings) on the 16-inch MacBook Pro with Core i9-9980HK, 64GB of RAM, and Radeon Pro 5600M under Catalina 10.15.7. However, compared to Windows, there are many stutters during startup and gameplay. It gradually becomes less of a problem after a while, but it's quite annoying you're near other players. Windows 10 doesn't have these problems on the same hardware, so it maintains 60fps much more consistently without fps drop spikes.

Also, the fps counter doesn't count properly sometimes despite Vsync being enabled. During gameplay, the fps counter may read as 90 instead of 60. No MacBook has a display with a refresh rate of more than 60Hz. It might correct itself to 60 at random moments or when I'm looking at the sky. The text in the game doesn't look as crisp as on Windows as well as the overall image especially when looking closely at objects.

I'm convinced this is due to texture loading. It tends to happen when new terrain is appearing, or new vehicles.

Next to useless IMHO. It seems to be an accurate measure of the graphics engine itself, but unfortunately it isn't measuring the number of changes being pumped out on the CPU side. So while the graphics system might be perfectly capable of pumping out the 60 fps, as it notes in the display, if the game engine is only telling it to move the camera 20 times a second, then the effective fps is 20 and that is not reflected in the counter.

That I don't see, the latest version seems much better than previous ones and my tank looks superb.

I discovered that certain smoke effects that are very close KILL my FPS.

I hear other Window players complain of FPS hits.

Looks like not a Mac exclusive issue.

I have stuttering when near planes even in Boot Camp while they are leaking oil and I'm near them. Otherwise, the game runs perfectly, but that's probably because the GPU is too good. Also just using default preinstalled AMD Boot Camp drivers.

It wouldn't be surprising because Windows is better optimized for gaming, but before and after New Power, I never really had these stutters even when Windows 10 was newly installed. Even when New Power showed its graphics and textures for the first time under Windows, my framerates didn't change that much.

I used the internal display of the 16-inch MacBook Pro on both macOS and Windows versions of the game. Exact same graphics preset (Movie) as well. They have both improved from this update, but Windows still undoubtedly looks better and does a better job at rendering the terrain in air battles. I can take comparison screenshots between macOS and Windows if you need them.

Same issue, 166 frame rate drops to 60 or less during game, freeze then time jump.  Unplayable!!!  First time this has ever been this bad.  Running GTX 980 with I7 and 16GB RAM.  Running at 4K with G-Sync, I've always been able to run at high graphics with no less than 100 fps.  Now I can't even run it on medium off 4K and it still makes no different.  PATCH THIS PLEASE. ASAP!!!!!

This issue also happens on PS.

This is NOT a Mac issue.
