CAC CA-27 Sabre Mk.30

Screen-Shot-2018-08-13-at-20_48_52.thumb

Introduction:

CAC CA-27 Saber is the first Australian version of the North American F-86F Saber. This aircraft would be Rank5/6 jet fighter. The prototype of this aircraft is called the "CA-26". CA-27 Mk.30 Sabre haver advantages of F-86F-2(Firepower) and F-86F-40(Turn time). They can carry Firestreak AAM so, they need to be placed on 9.3 or 9.7. If the snails add them, they will be good aircraft in subsonic battles like CL-13A Mk.5 and Shenyang F-5.

Background:

CAC CA-27 Saber is Australian version of the North American F-86F Saber. CAC(Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation) signed a contract with North American in February 1951 to produce a prototype and 70 production aircrafts. The RAAF(Royal Australian Air Force) asked the CAC to perform differently than the F-86F. They wanted changes such as better engine power and better firepower. CAC adopted the Rolls-Royce Avon as new engine and changed the gun from M3 50cals to ADEN.Because of these changes, the fuselage of the Avon Sabre was fatter than the F-86. The prototype was called the "CA-26 Sabre Mk.30" and it was maiden flight on August 3, 1953. The product version was called the CA-27 and they were first operated by the RAAF since July 1954.  Sabre Mk.30 was eventually produced for 23 aircraft (A94-901~A94-923) They were later equipped with 6-3 wings, to solve a problem of slats, and they were renamed Sabre Mk.31 after modifications in 1957-1958. A94-922 and A94-915 has history of carrying Firestreak as a test.

+1 for the British TT since Britain doesn't have a Sabre in their TT, Australia has very close ties with Britain due to Australia is a dominion commonwealth nation and lastly the CAC Sabers are the most unique Sabre variants due to different engines and armaments (we don't have any of the Hispano rockets ingame yet)

If you are wondering, yes Britain operated Sabres (mostly CL-13 Mk.4's)

+1

This would probably be one of if not the most unique Sabres in the game whilst having many differences to counteract others who complain about or are against copypaste vehicles.

+1 CAC Sabers yes. And the 'theres too many Sabers in the game' excuse doesnt fly anymore with china. Either give us a Commonwealth/Australia tree or put these in the UK tree.

I found out that NAA(National Archives of Australia) has documents on CA-26 and CA-27 Mk.30. I'll get their copies but, It may take some times. If I get permission from NAA, I’ll upload them to the WT Forum.

+1, Britain can do with some more Commonwealth vehicles to spice up the tree a bit more.

By the way, It seems Sabre Mk.30 couldn't carry cannons when they carried Firestreak missiles so, this sabre will be pure gunfighter in game.

Alternatively you could choose in the hangar if you want to take guns or missiles.

I got a copy of the Mk. 31 and Mk. 32 CA-27 flight manual off of ebay. It's digital, on a CD, it will ship in a couple weeks or so, then I will be happy to share all the performance information I find. I want to see this plane in game as well, I appreciate the work everyone has put in so far :D

Nice.

If you got flight manuals, Can you post their loadouts? I doubt they were carrying RP-3 rockets, not Hispano rockets.
