The new map in Power Update called ground strike City.

No need for AI bombers.

Very shirt game. usually over in 2 minutes.

I actually had a long playing game once at 3.3

The big problem is, people seem to agree, the short battle time. That has nothing to do with the map design (I kind of like dogfighting between sky scrapers, but I agree that aesthetically the map looks like a rough draft at best) and everything to do with the fact Gaijin broke Ground Attack games in arcade because of the changes (see below) in arcade games. I think it's probably unintended, but we really need Gaijin to pay attention to this issue and create a fix. All ground attack games are ending way too quickly right now.

List of changes:

  • The automatic feature in the destruction of AI vehicles has been disabled. New AI vehicles will appear - ground attackers that spawn for every team and destroy AI ground vehicles. Also in these missions the number of ground vehicles has been increased and both heavy vehicles (dots and tanks) and light vehicles (artillery, anti-aircraft guns and trucks) will be counted as victory points. Previously, destruction of light vehicles didn’t affect victory points.
  • Airfield models have been changed to a new 1700 metres long model.
  • AI vehicle counters have been disabled. In fact, previously they duplicated the victory point lines, but might not depict the actual required number of vehicles for victory, for example when bombing zones were destroyed.
  • Destruction of player-controlled aircraft now gives victory points.
  • Number of AI anti-aircraft guns has been reduced.
  • Troops have been redistributed to make the mission more “even” without being too crowded.

Too short of a battle on this map. Just played a 2:24 battle, which is just long enough to suck. There was some lag as well. I would have enjoyed flying around the buildings if I had time to do so...

Tbh I agree, at least on Guiana you weren't gonna get your game instantly ended in 3 minutes.

The nightmare of spawning in IL-2 lineups on Guiana though is still kinda better than watching games end so fast.... I agree

Short playing times, needs to look better--but the complexity is probably why it lags.  Fun zipping around the skyscrapers when you're able to do so.  In general the whole game could use more and varied maps.  For a while cloud banks were the big thing, then a few night fighting maps, but these changes don't stay in regular rotation.

This map appears to be San Diego, USA but the architects forgot the existence of gravity.

What's so bad about Guiana? Incredibly scenic, you can fly underground, you can fly below 0 meters altitude, and using a dive bomber is awesome(15 second dives!). Granted, I do have problems with whoever designed the roads...

lot of people don't like that map because you spawn at high altitude, which makes it either impossible or just painful for you to try fight for altitude superiority if you're not in a high altitude optimised aircraft (e.g. Yak-7B, Spitfire F Mk IX, La-5FN, Ki-43 III, etc)
