Weird Control Issue, Aim Related

Ok, issue only occurred since update New Power and virtually same time update to Big Sur. Ground combat.

When I am driving in the game and trying to aim the primary armament the aim point flicks side to side without control. Let go of the mouse or stop trying to aim and it stops, stop vehicle movement and I can aim no problem. This has gotten me killed a few times as you can understand!

I have reset controls in the game to Simple and Advanced Keyboard and Mouse with no change. I have even changed from a SteelSeries corded mouse to a Logitech G cordless mouse and the issue persists.

Keyboard is a wired SteelSeries Apex m500 being mapped by Karbiner (recent change from SteelSeries Engine) issue persisted under both configurations.

Im not sure if its the mouse settings in the macOS interfering with the game or what. Anyone else seen this?

I am not experiencing anything like this. What is your computer model?
Would you be able to send a video? I had a similar sounding thing years ago, but that was due to an issue with the mouse (and it happened constantly, not just in wt)

Thanks for the reply! This is only in War Thunder, no other applications. I tested in apps like Affinity Photo, Photos and in Pages. Mouse accuracy has no issues outside of WT.

I thought it might be the mouse myself, especially since in my original configuration I was using a SteelSeries Rival 300 and the SteelSeries engine software was not working with Big Sur.

Bought a new Logitech G 305 Lightspeed Mouse and the issue persisted.

I've played with the DPI settings to no effect.

Can't be interference because it was happening with both wired and wireless the same. Both mice were/are plugged directly into the iMac (Logitech receiver is less than 20cm away per manufacturer instruction).

Since its WT only it has to be a settings thing.

I will attempt to upload a video tomorrow, gotta go adult right now.

Before New Power I had a similar problem I called "drunk mode". It did not "flick" as you describe it, instead the aim sort of swam around like I was moving the mouse even after I had stopped. This would last perhaps a second, long enough to get killed.

However, I have not had a single instance of it since, and I'm not sure what you are describing is the same. Can you more clearly describe "flicking"?

So I drive with keyboard and aim with mouse. Im driving in a particular direction and aiming in another, if I try to keep the aim stable on a specific point it flicks to either side of said point, especially noticeable when zoomed in.

Going to try and get a short video of it tonight. I can do it in Arcade and Test Drives.

Got a video, sorry for the vertical and off centre, trying to do it two handed is no fun.

I am in a test drive with the QF 3.7 Ram (vehicle doesn't seem to matter). I am driving straight with the gun off axis of travel. Trying to hold the gun on one spot as you can see is impossible. Those aren't objects throwing off the aim. Happens on a street map that's smooth as a baby butt too.

PS I noticed the issue only occurs when I use my arrow keys for vehicle movement. when I use WASD it does not seem to occur at all. Both are valid in the controls though.

That's interesting... is it possible the controls are overloaded so they're trying to do two things at the same time?

Very possible, I also see the camera 'dive' forward almost like if I was pointing the nose of a plane at the ground when I brake hard (that's gotten me killed too!).

All my movement and camera controls look OK, hasn't really changed from previous.

Screen shots below if someone sees something I don't.

Yeah, WASD fixes it. I haven't had time to sit down and go through the controls to figure it out but using WASD vs Arrows is a reasonable fix for the issue.

Preferred if they fixed the issue that ocurred because of the update, worked fine before that...... i like using the arrows.
