major ALERT MAC players: asking help, and avoid playing aircraft

@GarryPowers is doing a great job with trying out ideas, he may have found another cause.

 

A request by all players to note what unit and mode they play when a crash happens.

• Air, Land, Sea.
• AB, RB, SB.
• BR range

 

I have read that players have more crashes playing Aircraft.

I recommend everyone to avoid playing aircraft for now and see how that goes.

 

At a guess I think the issue may be the older units in game have asset information causing conflict with the new engine. 

It is possible that aircraft made recently will work fine, but the old ones will cause crash.  This may also apply to tanks, as they are years old as well.

 

A bigger issue is the matches will have units put in game years ago and those just introduced.

If anyone is willing to put in time, try doing Custom battles where they can control what units they bring in game.

Test Flight might also be helpful to testing which units cause crash.

 

 

UPDATE

Maybe the Fire and Smoke effects are causing the crashes? 

Note what is happening when your game crashes.

 

 

This will help isolate issues and speed up a fix.

I have a newer iMac and I get crashes on nearly every plane when something catches fires close to my pov. So if the fire and smoke effects take up more than a, 1/8th of the screen.

Also, all naval battles crash on me roughly about 10 to 15 minutes into a match at most. This is happening even with the Full Client unchecked and I'm not running any of the extras.

 

This update has been severely disappointing.

Have you tried sending a Support ticket.  Look in your Account info page.

Yes, I have sent in a support ticket, 2 as a matter of fact. Neither have been responded to. I'm just going to keep sending in a ticket for every crash since it doens't seem like Gaijin cares about Mac players.

 

Current crash happened in an AAB in the P51-c (red tail) after the plane exploded. It took me back to the plane choice screen and locked up and crashed.

In my opinion - the issue (at least one of them) appears to be related to the aircraft explosions - and not aircraft specific. In RB on high settings - it plays fine until I explode (in various German airplanes)

This game sucks so much now. Gaijin can add all of the psychological pieces to keep players and keep them addicted, but there is probably going to be a mass exodus in the very near future. 

Is there going to be a resolution with the Premium time on this stuff? By my count, they owe me around 5 weeks of premium time since I purchased items during the New Power update.

I can play the game now, I experience less crashes when I am on "Low Graphics" but however since the new power update I have a weird texture issue only on mainly exist on aircraft. anyone can relate?

This has been my experience. Fire and smoke related to exploding airplanes specifically (tanks are fine). My client just crashed after shooting a plane down with a Gepard. Planes will work fine until I die which supports the theory it's related.

It also then crashed in an Air AB 4.0 match twice. Once in the middle of the match. Once after I logged back in to find myself dead (of course) and it just crashed again.

This game is unplayable for portion of the community. Some of us pay actual money. Everything about this situation is gaijin's fault, and so far as I can tell, gaijin is doing nothing about it.

I almost always crash in RB tanks. I rarely fly aircraft of any sort.

 

The crashes occur entirely at random - sometimes the instant the game moves into a mission, sometimes after some play, sometimes after multiple matches.

 

There appears to be no particular texture that causes this that I can see.

 

Turning off Full Client reduces the number of crashes by 95%.

iMac 2019, Big Sur— game crashes with all aircraft at all BRs (1.0 to 9.3, which is as high as I have). I play Sim Battles almost exclusively but it also crashes in RBs. No special event needed like an explosion. It even crashes when I merely select an aircraft or just click the Battle button.
