Well said , I can only speculate that the reason is NOT TO DO  with unpopularity in SQB arcade ,if you really think of the basic mathematic and financial side of the SQB and how much players spent buying premium etc  in the post above.

Without squadron battle a lot of players will quit the game. And those players (like me) will not spend money anymore.

Really? they didint uptade this mode in years and now they trying to get rid of it like that. And still a lots of player are still playing this mode. To me Its only reason the spend money and time for this because of the SAB, now ı dont have a reason for grinding to V. tier vehicles... ı didnt even enjoy playing in high tiers because its waste of lions and not worth it. Gaijin its still the same old company. They not trying to fix the issue and tell us "Forgot this mode and play realstic" but ı see in this topic most of the player are against this change. İf this change goes in to the game im droping this game and say goodbye to gaijin.

who decided removing ab sqb from game  i can say most terrible move in my 7 years war thunder history    :)  Gaijin free to do everthıng in this game if there is no ab sqb check the online players number its gonna dicrease +10k because ab players researchıng vehicles and creating battles with  new players. go gaijin do it and see the result.  if veteran players leave for other games it s gonna be hard to return also this action good excuse for stopping everyday +10 hours playıng war thunder players.   wTR- vecihiTR

I agree with most of what you said except for the 50kg bomb drops being skilful. The skilful part is not getting hit by the AA when you dive down, but dropping a bomb on top of the tank from ultra low altitude is not that hard. And it's one of the reasons a lot of new players don't play after spending a week in SQB.

That depends. For planes you're right, there's barely anyone because on 8.0 you start having homing missiles and in arcade you have bomb/rocket reload in air, so most of the people who play it are the ones with premium planes with rockets. For ground it depends on the region, in my region I tend to have problems connecting to RB while never had probilem quickly joining AB.

Maybe they want to unify the playerbase in a single mode to implement Navy in 8v8 and limit the quitting effect on the season. 

 

I can think of a hundred reasons which make more sense than "lack of interest" - just look at the scoreboard - but the truth is they already went with this explanation and we will not know the real reason. They might even get angry at somebody not buying this crap as they usually do.

it's just odd that they would cancel the mode because of "population" when they have SB tanks or air running with only 100 players for 4 years.

After they inverted the order of BRs squadrons without top tier vehicles stopped playing in early weeks of each season, maybe they did not understand that it was for their sake so the points for top tiers are worth less/less likely to be a major loss. Also bombing ground players over and over and steamrolling them with bombs isn't fun.

I agree, but if we want to do this, we need to organise and have some kind of consensus what we want fixed and how we want it fixed, otherwise it won't make sense. We are a fraction of actual players that played SQB and stopped. And I know a lot of players that don't even know they can log in with an in-game account and how suggestions work. Some people get angry when they see a TEC video with "passed to dev" and then after a month they are complaining why isn't something fixed that was already passed to devs. If we who are actually active on the forums will have opinions and focus all over the place, then the fight is lost.

The 50 kg bombs went useless and bf 109 spammers went in forum crying to turn back rules. Remember when developers inserted new rules (max 4 fighters per team) and again.... bf 109 spammers came to forum crying to turn back rules.

 

In my opinion developers should take decisions to balance the game and don't mind crying people who wrote in forum to change rules to support thier gmestyle. And, i can add, very boring gamestyle whit bf109 spam. 

Final result.... who win air superiority will win the battle at 90% bombing enemy tanks. Game over and victory for BF109 spammers. Forum community is happy but it's only the 1% of playing people. The other 99% don't write in forum and many of them stopped playing SQB arcade and switched to realistic SQB or stopped playing SQB at all.

 

Iif we want to save SQB arcade we need to change the game mechanics. Developers should count less forum posts but should have to watch game replay to understand if game is well balanced. If they see a spam there is something unbalanced to change.

 

I wish dovelopers will not remove SQB arcade form game, but changes are needed.

 

Completely agree, this is the same issue I've been talking over and over again about the 109 spam, general bombing spam 90% of the time. Take a look at the post I linked previously.

Gaijin has shown his selfishness and thoughtlessness once again. They changed squadron battles by 180 degrees right after the official launch of the warthunder, where such changes should take place in beta. At the beginning me and many players criticized the change of squadron battles from unlimited spawns to limited (2 planes and 3 tanks) IV tier. With time I liked this change, although I still miss the old arcade squadron battles mode, where I could play the whole battle using only planes or tanks. The main reason for the small number of players in AB mode, in my opinion, is the fact that AB player has to make planes and tanks at the same time under a given BR (in a word, he has to do 2x more work than RB player to be able to play squadrons battles). Realistic player does not have to make planes and tanks, he just has to be a tanker or pilot, he will make or buy some machines that are used on realistic squadron battles and he can play. I do not completely understand the thinking process of the game creators. I've been playing this game since 2015, and squadron battles since 2016. I noticed a very strong decrease in popularity of arcade squadron battles after changing from unlimited spawns to limited spawns mode (2 planes & 3 tanks). Another wave of decline in the popularity of the game took place after the introduction of +V tier to squadron battles. I am not at all surprised that most players either stopped playing squadron battles or switched to realistic battles. Many people like to play only with planes or only with tanks. Players who only had airplanes unlocked had to put a lot of time and nerves into unlocking the tanks and they did not like to play with. Very often they gave their accounts to their armored colleagues from the squadrons to make them tanks, and the armored ones gave their accounts to pilots to unlock their planes. In a word, an arcade player must be a universal player which can be hard for new player. New players who tried their hand at the arcade arena were very discouraged by the fact that they have to unlock tanks and planes at the same time to be able to play squadron battles. When I was an officer in the Polish squadron, it was much easier for me to recruit and encourage a new player to play while there were 11 slots + double use, because the new player could choose whether he wanted to be a tanker or a pilot. He made planes or tanks until the 4th era + buy 5 slots and could play. After the changes that Gaijin introduced (I think they were in 2018 year), it was much harder to encourage the new player to make all necessary machines, because many people did not like the fact that he had to unlock all the tanks and planes to the 4th era in the nation, so they either stopped playing squadron battles or tried their hand at realistic mode. Gaijin remembers very well how many of the top players (pilots) announced leaving the game after the change forced them to unlock the tanks, as you can see, they completely pitted the players and made changes in the squadron battles. Currently they're pushing out on the arcade players telling them, "Sorry, not many of you play this game mode, so bye-bye, we as the developers of the game improved the arcade mode, you didn't want to accept the changes, also we're closing the game mode, if you don't like this change, then change the game" Typical for these developers. The arrogant and selfish approach to players has just caused this effect. It's only a matter of time before they close realistic squadron battles, I think. They will make some changes in realistic mode that will cause players to stop playing realistic squadron battles and realistic squadron battles will share the fate of the arcade. War thunder is a typical corporation, also don't expect a change of decision, we just have to say goodbye to the arcade squadron battles in 2021.Thank you for your attention. I've been playing this game for so long just because I like to play the arcade squadron battles. Currently I only play arcade squadron battles, since there will be no arcade squadron battles, I suspect that I will not be in this game either. I don't agree about the supposed reason why people stopped playing arcade. Maybe the change from unlimited spawns vs what we have now had significant effect here, because I haven't played in squadron when unlimited spawns were around, but I believe unlimited spawns are unfair if based on how much slots you have bought because it means it's outright pay to win (If I understand correctly what you mean by unlimited spawns).

 

The issue that was crippling the mode for the last two years that I played this mode was bombs and the fact that the initial air battle decided who won and the match was already one sided after that in most of the battles. Like less than 10% of matches had actual fights on the ground, and that happend if somehow both teams eradicated each other twice or the map made it so the cap had a hiding spots from which you could defend the cap and not be easily bombed.

 

Because of that most of the new teams came into the season and tried playing, but got steamrolled over and over again with bombs without even having any real fights on the ground. And we've done the same to new teams and it was boring as hell to just proceed with same thing over and over again just to get points and you did the same to us where we couldn't do anything on the ground.

 

And I've told you all that it's going to end with people leaving SQB if we don't fix this bombing steamrolling issue and every squadron from the top was like "you are complaining because you can't play both planes and tanks" but I know that we could beat the **** out of you on the ground if the map was bad for air fights or if we eradicated each other's planes luckily (because in 99% of air fights we did lose, but that's a completely different topic I won't touch on the forums). So in essence you were happily sitting on top and didn't want to change anything because you were winning all the time, but didn't get bored by doing matches exactly the same over and over again and it didn't occur to you that new people will get bored quickly if it's like this. Great job as you are the part of the problem and now you are digging out the change from two years ago like you couldn't try and do something about it when being the top squadron multiple seasons and trying to divert the forks.

 

The nail in the coffin for the mode was changing the order of BRs for each season without explaining to new squadrons that it's for their good and as we all know it, gaijin is pretty bad at explaining things, so squadrons that don't have top tier lineups were steamrolled even more in first weeks or didn't play at all without understanding that it's this way so the lost matches on top tier are less penalising.

I did not know what to say into what you are going to do, I do not know if a human game is self-absorbed. This game had a mode like a man, clan war, you removed it with your own hands, you have the epi ball 50 60 thousand players left, now you earn money with 20 thousand players, stupid russians

I am sure WarThunder is my first and will be last ''free'' game. The games you buy in the shop are much more stable than the pay for fun, at least they don't change their games by 180 degrees. Instead of modifying the game mode, they shut it down, what a loser decide. There is nothing like of deciding to close the arcade mode on Christmas, thank you gaijin for such a ''wonderful'' gift.

Arcade SQB are unbalanced and full of teams who  exploit this unbalancing whit spam of overpower units. The game allows you to do it, so rules are not broken.

 

How many players who are crying in this post play arcade SQB whit bf 109 spam ? And how many whit f89b and f89d ? 

 

If many players stopped playing arcade SQB is because of lamers and spammers. And now there are not enough players to play a championship...... lamer spam party over. 

 

You can't ask to continue playing arcade SQB whit this rules. CHanges needed. Do you want some explample:

  1. Remove bombs from bf109. or 10 seconds deley on bombs (at least on fighters bombs).
  2.  Cap on premium units in team or in preset
  3. Cap on numbers of planes who can be in battle at same time.
  4. Working anticheat in all arcade gamemodes.

Players should stop crying and REALLY help  developers to take decision to rebalance the game, and not say no to all new rules who don't allow them to lame in the game.

Maybe it's too late, i really want to continue playing arcade SQB, but we need to change rules, and maybe players will come back.

Can't like/react anymore because I ran out of reactions for some reason, I'm surprised I didn't have proposition to restock them with money :P

 

1) I agree with crippling the bomb capabilities, but I don't think selecting specific vehicle will do. There will be attackers that are fighter-like that will replace 109s if we cripple 109s, so that's not the universal solution.

We should take the implementation of bomb fuse straight from the public matches 1:1 because it's done and works and it's fastest way to have it implemented. I tried promoting this idea for some time, but for some reason we need more votes than usual and discussion to have it even passed to devs. Or maybe Gaijin was planning all along to shut down arcade SQB so my suggestion wasn't passed to dev for the whole year after having over 100 votes, while there are often suggestions in gameplay section passed with roughly half of that amount. Anyway don't remove bombs from specific units, there are also bombers that will be able to do low altitude drops and we'll be back to square one.

 

2) I don't think this is something that Gaijin will agree to do. I know it makes the sqb somewhat pay2win, but at the same time I have a lot of premium vehicles that I got in events and I want to play those. One way or another this most likely won't happen because it's a source of income for Gaijin.

 

3) This is a good idea, In RB it's max 4 players. This should make it easier for AA and more about cooperation than single dude capping while whole team of planes clear the path.

 

4) I didn't want/know how to touch this issue, because rules on the forum prevent talking about cheats, but I agree and we all know that it's a thing in arcade squadron battles. Anticheat would help a lot.

Note for the moderators: please don't axe my whole post if you believe it's against the rules, just cull the text about the cheats/anticheats. I can provide explanation on what's this about on PM.

 

Go to the topic I linked before and also the one I have in my signature, organise your team to help push the bomb fuse fix. Without squadron discipline on it and also asking community manager to change the decision on shutting down the arcade SQB, we'll be just a bunch of dudes complaining. We need to have strength in numbers and we need to push the fix through proper channels which is suggestion section. By not doing it through proper channels you are showing to Gaijin that you don't care enough to take your time and figure out what the proper channel for it is.

I play 7 years. i would have stoped playing a long ago if it wasnt for SQB's. I never liked tanks . I played my **** off in tanks so that i ll be able to participate in SQB's.I know players that hate airplanes but they payed for prepmium planes so that they will be able to play SQB's.I see opinions in here "" cheaters"""  ,"""lamers""", """spawn campers""" this , that , here  and overthere.

Why you take time to say things that dont matter or even worst that are completly wrong.

The decision was made by gaijin as always , they didnt take opinions, they didnt care, they will do what they wanna do giving rediculus excuses

The game mode stops due to lack of intrest from players.......    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If that was the case guys then  1) helicopters mode, 2) simulator air mode and 3) simulator tank mode sould have been stoped for 2 years now.

How many people play those modes???????? check it out for yourself, enter the game and go in que......... but they are still alive......

Bottom line

Gaijin does not care to fix the mode because it will cost money to fix it,all of us that have been playing SQB's have seen the problems, so what Gaijin does?

It closes the mode hoping that people are addicted with the game and most of them will jump to realistic.....

BULLETIN!!!!!!!!!!

We stop spending money for vechicles that were needed, for back ups, for crews, we dont go to RB, we will be playing arcade just for the fun of it from now on, but from 6 to 10 hours a day we ll go down to 6 to 10 a week.

Why you take time to say things that dont matter or even worst that are completly wrong.

Well, If I recorded any match with your team live and then compared it to the replay, I would be able to explain the reason why people think we need anticheat.

 

Regardless of that you were doing same routine over and over and over again eradicating the enemy team in the air, often without any losses, and then bombed the hell out of the tanks with the same planes you you used for dogfight.

 

This shows lack of intelligence if you were happy with playing the same scenario forever without actual challenge, where you should have known that at some point opponents will get annoyed, bored and stop trying.

 

Regardless of whether you were cheating or not, the fact that you were always on top without any competition from new squadrons, shows that you were happy that the rules and mechanics of the mode were in favour to your style of play (that had to be boring to do always the same thing) and you lack empathy (as in viewing things from perspective of other people) and you were playing just to show off your dominance and farm golden eagles and maybe for the discharge of aggression, and everyone who was your target, was just like a bot to you.

 

Needless to say, the proof was that people did not want to play with you because it was useless, and we also came to a point where I've seen my team eradicating newcomers the same way with bombs, and this wasn't really fun either, it was a boring routine just to score points. And I've tried to fix things, but here we are.

 

And it actually is not false that a lot of people did stop playing, it was actually convenient for you that was less teams to fight against in last seasons, in context of being sure you'd be on top.

Gaijin's fault in this isn't that they stated false reason to shut down the mode, but that they neglected the mode for so long they let it slowly die.

 

Our common fault is that we didn't organise ourselves to prevent this to happen by having strong voice in what we want changed in the mode to improve it. This forum has stupid procedures for bugfixes and improvement suggestions, but if that's how it works, your complaining and kicking all around the internet won't help if you need to go through correct channels. But it's the same with voting - "my vote doesn't matter" approach. So now we have the effect of this.

Saper , i didnt come here to insult or acuse. But you acuse me of stuff, it felt like u said that i cheat somehow??????, it felt like you said that i m stupid for using the same tactis to win ?????

Dude if you were any better in the game you would use the same tactics as well , because they are the tactics that win , dont blame others for being better than you. also check every game you played against me and if u find a single proof or indication that i m cheating i will close my account  and go in every forum there is admiting that i was cheating and that you are way better player than me. I have came across players in this game that i stood not a chance against them. They are way better players than me, i dont accuse them for being cheaters...... and isntead of seeing the modes that are left open while they have no players you choose to attack. I thought that this was a convertation about the SQB's mode and not a chance for average players to insult better ones. You said that it was better for us to have less oponents, not only liga but the top 3 teams.... well .... reconsider.... more enemy teams, less chances for the top 3 to fight against eachother, more chances to get easy points , easier way to get to 25000 points in the 1st week. you blame  the way we play, kill planes and then bomb the tanks, You say do something diffrent..... HOW???????????? we dont make the game, gaijin does, and since gaijin made it we play according to its rules plus if we go 4 planes 4 tanks or 8 tanks the opponent will bring 8 planes and will do what we were doing and win. so we were supposed to let othe ppl win ???? where is the logic in that??????

i remember the old SQBs mode a non  stop carnage with so much laughing so much adrenaline. do you remember that mode? do you remeber what all teams were doing exept the italians but they also changed the tanks rush because they realized that their tactic was not good? . 

Bottom line is that what ever changes gaijin decided to apply we follwed because we love SQB's. i had never played tanks for 2 years and i was forced to learn the few things i know in order to be able to play SQB's. Here we dont face changes. Here is  shut down. You really belive that if they wanted to keep the mode alive that they wouldnt have find solutions or ideas so far????

read above m8, Helicopter mode ALIVE , i dont think that daily it has more than 20 players.... simulator mode ALIVE it has like what ? 25? 30 players? ASQB mode 200 players? say 150 in total? closed...  Gaijin has been planning this , consider your self as a new player, where would you go to grind? ofc at RB,and you continiue  in an RB team you dont change the mode you started....if you start as RB player is really hard or even impossible to make it as an arcade player....Usually arcade players can jump mode. its what gaijin hopes for. for all of us to jump mode. well i was going to RB in order to grind faster high br vechicles. i needed them for sqbs, now i dont need to grind fast what i ll be unlocking, so no more RB, i ll be playing arcade. A lot less and with no money spending as i said

What about try game mode , 2 planes or 3 tanks, not 2 planes & 3 tanks, and reduce bombs in BF109 to 1x250 kg instead of 4x50 kg? For me this will increase the number of players, because player will need to make only planes or tanks to play SQB AB. @MMIinfo for me even delete planes in AB SQB will change no one, because top teams will win with weaker teams easy on the ground, because they will be better coop and have better tactic& skill from these less experienced, but this is only my opinion. For me close this game mode is big mistake, but this is gaijin u won't understand this :P

I would like to tell people thats talking about how to blance arcade squadron battles (in their point of view), this is not the post to talk about it. we are here because we dont want arcade squadron battles to be removed or maybe some people want it to be removed.

 

If you want to talk about balancing Arcade squadron battles in any type of way, pls make a forum post about it and people will gladly give their thoughts. Right now we are here because for many people this is the main reason why they are still playing this game and spend their time in it.

 

So pls if you have any thoughts other then if this game mode should be revomed or not removed, make a post in forum so people can discuss it and give their thoughts.

 

I am not here saying that the game mode is pecfect. There is pros and conts in every battle rating. But we are manly discussing about the removal of arcade squadron battle.

Honestly... Gaijin decide to close SB Arcade because the less number of player during last 3/4 tournament.

personally it has happened to me a few times to stop playing, when I continuosly find only the first 3 Team. 

Grairforce is right,  there are players who really know how to play, others who maybe use tricks, but the result is that the championship is very unbalanced if we consider the difference in skills between the first 5 teams and the next 50...

 

For this reason fewer and fewer players play AB. For this reason the solution would be to fix match making, because you are absolutely right; meeting D2K, LIGA, iTeam, for almost all 50 teams means losing, so they stop playing.
 
How to make the game more interesting and competitive? It would be enough to do as in the other Sports; create divisions, first, second, third etc ... Starting from the next one: first division 10 teams; second division 20 teams; third division 30 team. Each division has promotions and relegations, and maybe higher prizes than 100 GE ... But I'm not the Gaijin so there's no point in giving advice, so ... WE PROTEST NOT TO CLOSE THE ARCADE SB
