IesousEinaiTheos 460 Report post Posted January 3, 2021 I have started a dog fighting tutorial series, and it will focus on more advanced maneuvers. The first 2 videos are the basics to catch people up to speed, I gloss over many topics because my goal is to get into the meat of the maneuvers. That link is the playlist of the videos and I will be updating them as I go Tell me what you think, especially if you know of any really good fighter pilot interviews or their books they have written!

Senior Technical Moderator Rapitor 10,702 Report post Posted January 10, 2021 The egg of maneuvering is an "obscure" subject. Everyone quotes it, no one really spend time try to understand it. This is a constant G loop. Meaning that the pilot feels a constant G, but the aircraft makes a reference G turn at the bottom, and a G+2 at the top with the help of gravity. It assumes that: - at all time you can pull this amount of G - you don't have to return to the initial point where you started the maneuver. - that's for no thrust, low drag. If you can't pull enough G, the top of the course loosen and it becomes more round. Drag and thrust will make the altitude change as well, likely to the lower altitude. I might plot a more accurate curve some day, but it still wont look like an egg, top or bottom
