NerdOnFire 3 Report post Posted January 6, 2021 Is there a statement from Gaijin regarding plans to eventually support M1 CPU's?

PPCmgb 29 Report post Posted January 8, 2021 Gaijin should've teamed up with Apple to get this game natively running on M1 in the first place and showed it off during the November 2020 event. I wish they show this game running Movie settings on the M1X natively optimized when Apple unveils the next 16-inch MacBook Pro and iMacs in March 2021 event or WWDC 2021, but that's unlikely considering the Mac port's history.

aquatonex 2 Report post Posted January 15, 2021 Yeah I keep hoping the 'next' update will fix it, but still here we are months later without a solution!
fish_outta_water 31 Report post Posted January 18, 2021 (edited) Big big big update guys Now when my game crashes every other match instead of a sad box I get a BRIGHT RED ONE!!! Kudos to Gaijin for this fantastic improvement. Edited January 18, 2021 by fish_outta_water formatting
NerdOnFire 3 Report post Posted January 18, 2021 I wonder how smooth WT would actually run on a M1 with optimized code for Metal. This year Apple is rolling out even more powerful M1 CPU/GPU compounds but I think the current Apple Silicon MBP/MBA's are more performant than any average win pc setup out there. I think apple even released Metal for windows and ARM platforms are definitely on the rise so I hope Gaijin starts to listen to the signals at some point... TheRealCoopsie 14 Report post Posted January 19, 2021 Considering it's been more than 2 months, going on 3 since they broke the game for Mac and still no fix. I'm going to say it won't happen this year, if ever.

That's Apple giving Windows developers tools to compile Metal shaders directly from their Windows PCs. I have made educated speculations before that the M1 MacBook Air could run War Thunder at maximum settings if natively optimized for M1.
