M1 Statement

Gaijin should've teamed up with Apple to get this game natively running on M1 in the first place and showed it off during the November 2020 event.

I wish they show this game running Movie settings on the M1X natively optimized when Apple unveils the next 16-inch MacBook Pro and iMacs in March 2021 event or WWDC 2021, but that's unlikely considering the Mac port's history.

I wonder how smooth WT would actually run on a M1 with optimized code for Metal. This year Apple is rolling out even more powerful M1 CPU/GPU compounds but I think the current Apple Silicon MBP/MBA's are more performant than any average win pc setup out there. I think apple even released Metal for windows and ARM platforms are definitely on the rise so I hope Gaijin starts to listen to the signals at some point...

Metal is not actually on Windows. That's Apple giving Windows developers tools to compile Metal shaders directly from their Windows PCs.

I have made educated speculations before that the M1 MacBook Air could run War Thunder at maximum settings if natively optimized for M1.
