Update 2.3.0.110 Forced to play on ULQ

Hi i started up the game today and i got this warning and when the game loaded, it gave me ultra low graphics even though my video card can easily support the game the way my settings are right now as of yesterday. thats why i uploaded a clog made today as well as one from yesterday and also because i didnt have this problem yesterday which was the day after the latest client update .i tried a NVRAM reset but it made no difference

So I have been playing war thunder on two different MacBook pros and never had a problem, always used medium or high quality game settings. A few nights ago I was playing the game and left for a while, when I cam back I noticed the game installing a tiny update which I figured was a bug update and after it downloaded I proceeded to launch the game. When I launched the game it open the game icon and a black screen came up with a message saying, "The video settings were adjusted for your video memory size. if you use several video cards, make sure you choose a high performance video card for launching the game (GPU768MiB)."

 

So I have been playing on this specific Mac for Too many hours and I've never had anything like this happen, but now, the game won't let me change the quality from low to anything else. It just won't let me hit the button and it says my computer doesn't have enough video ram. Ive tried installing the game and uninstalling, deleting and reinstalling the launcher, changing settings, but I keep getting the message and I can never figure out why!!

I logged on to War Thunder, and it gave me a notification saying that due to my graphics memory, the game would open in ultra low graphics mode. I have been playing with good graphics for a year now and I am given this notification after I have not changed anything. I have looked on the forums and it turns out a similar thing might have happened to Mac users after a past update. Thank you.

So I have been playing war thunder for about 5 years on two different MacBook Pros. One was a 2015 with 4gb of Memory and the other is currently a 2019 MacBook Pro with all info given in a photo down below. My 2019 Mac has 8 gb of Memory and is perfectly fine running war thunder in medium and high graphics. Since I got my newer Mac I have always played war thunder with high quality settings. It was in fact two high and I dropped down to medium till Friday the 19th of February at night. I had quit the game and when I opened up the launcher everything seemed fine. I noticed the update bar moving and I assumed it was just a patch which it probably is. I proceeded to launch the game with medium Graphics and before anything happened on the now black screen of war thunder, I got a pop up message. This message said in short summary that my computer didnt have enough video ram and memory and because of this, it changed the quality of gameplay from medium to ultra low quality. I have included a photo of that message below.

 

I really didnt believe anything happened until I got into the game and into the hanger at which time I realized I have 180FPS and the words Ultra Low Quality in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, which I have included a photo of. After getting into a game of Tank RB, I realized the game really was in Ultra low Quality and immediately went into the in game settings page to see the quality setting the game was on. I have a picture of what I saw but in words, the little pop down button where you can change the quality of the game from ultra low quality to medium and high was switched to LOW in all red letters. it also had a small message and the other options also said LOW. Whenever I tried to click the other LOW options it would let me but it wouldn't change anything. 

 

After that I basically left the game, quit the Application and went back into the launcher popup and went into the quality settings page where I was still able to switch the quality settings to all the different options. I played around with all the settings and nothing seemed to do anything because every time the game launched I got the same message down below. I uninstalled and reinstalled launcher but to no avail, including restarting and shutting down my computer. Nothing worked.

 

SO like I've said before I have played Warthunder for about 5 years and never had something like this happen. What is most interesting for me is that this all happened right after a patch or small update at around 8pm Central pacific time in Wisconsin. I currently have to play with ultra low quality and it's really starting to bug me, not gonna lie. Pls help me

Before the update I could run on max graphics on everything. I could go into Custom and change everything to max and it ran smooth as could be. After the latest update I get the warning in the attached image with the this message: 

 

"The video settings were adjusted for your video memory size. If you use several video cards, make sure you chose a high-performance video card for launching the game. (GPU: 768MiB)"

 

I'm using the Mac launcher, not Steam. I have uninstalled and redownloaded with same result. I've checked for Apple updates and restarted, all the basic stuff. I don't like potato graphics. It's gone from pro, to potato.

Ever since the new patch, I have this problem with playing. It does not allow me to run the game and only shows this message. I know this isn't my computer's issue as it was capable of running high/medium at 20 to 30 FPS. Due to this issue I am not able to play on my desired graphics. I have asked many other mac members of the WT community and they seem to have the same problem as well. Please fix this in the next update or the next patch. This issue doesn't only mess with the game graphics, it also messes with the gameplay as now you can't see a plane or a tank 3 meters away, only smoke and exhaust.

Hi, As the title says the game force me to use ULQ graphics after the update 17.02.2021 (2.3.0.106) or update 19.02.2021 (2.3.0.110). (I don't remember which update is it), I was able to run the game at medium graphic setting since NewPower and HotTrack update, and now the game force me to use ULQ setting with critical FPS dropping, even with the lowest graphics I could use (select the lowest resolution is also performed as very low fps, The fps is even lower than no ULQ before the update) , apparently it is unplayable, I've tried to reinstall the game but it didn't help either. It seems no graphic update on those two small update so I'm so confused right now.

if u guys can help, i'll be appreciated about it.

Working to get an OFFICAL word from Gaijin on these unannounced changes.

Performance issue is being looked at.

 

(There is note to delete your current game and download from WT, do not use Steam.  Maybe it will work, maybe not, someone can try)

Sorry for my response if it annoys you, I reinstalled my game at least 4 times, also my specs are slightly better than the specs show in that screenshot. Please respond when you find something about a patch in this issue as it is becoming unbearable to play like this.

Hello up untill recently Ive had no troubles playing Warthunder at Med graphics quality on my Macbook Air however after the last patch its been forced to be stuck on ULQ and ive tried deleting and re-installing the game to now avail.

Hello Guys I was writing couple days with Dmitry from Support team, and he just told that Gaijin just changed minimal requirements...

So maybe this is the end... We will see..

on February 18 when I updated the game it forced me to play on URL graphics and I can figure out why. my mac is more then capable to play on high graphics. I also tried download the client again and it din't fix it.

I have no idea how you can adjust your MBP V-ram size, game seems to think you are < 2GB

Good news, after Ixwa strike update, it's no longer forced me playing on ulq. o7 
btw: the shadow of the vehicle is not showing.

Hi all.

So the last few weeks started getting the similar message around video settings and video card, but dropped to ulq and it seemed to work.

the only odd think was my lines ups started going funny for instance my soviet BR 1ish armour rating is suddenly full of aircraft from my soviet 3.4 BR lineup and my US BR 2 aircraft lineup suddenly matches my br 4 lineup - all on its own.

 

Annoying but fixable.

 

the odd thing is (and maybe just never noticed before) i can access camo from my userskin folder when select vehicle to go into game even though not playing full client.

 

Then ixwa update - and now i last about 3 mins into a game on ULQ and the whole thing freezes up - cant play etc etc.  And what did i get from IXWA - well no SA lineup no new vehicles just new sounds that make gunfire sound like a sea lion clapping!
