Event to exchange out-of-place copy-paste vehicles

  1. 1. How should Gaijin handle the out-of-place copy-paste vehicle issue?

    • Gaijin should replace the premiums with rare event vehicle coupons for the Market place.
      11
    • Gaijin should remove the premiums and refund the player in Golden Eagles and Silver Lions.
      3
    • Gaijin should have an annual garage sale for premium vehicles.
      5
    • Gaijin should not replace any out-of-place copy-paste vehicles.

Whilst it might sound silly, now that we have no factions in the game maker, and now that Gaijin have opened up new nationalities with inadequate tech trees which can't be filled to attract players from China and others, it does sound more and more logical to just lump them all together, stick a different decal on them and presto you have all 200 countries represented fully, equally and fairly, and it resolves this constant br issue and let's be frank, it solves your complaint as well.

Thanks for your input, but I really don't agree to just having one big tech tree, as it would take away so much from this game. The new matchmaker also prevents Americans from fighting Americans in realistic battles (or any other nation from fighting itself), so it is not simply all against all, like it is in arcade battles.

The introduction of the South African sub tech tree into the British tech tree is working very well for me, and I can see Gaijin adding many more sub tech trees to the game in the future.

Having different tech trees, that plays differently from eachother is very important to me. That is why I suggests making the big four in-game nations much more unique and different from eachother, so that it all isn't just one big soup of Shermans, Stuarts and T-34s...

I think this version of the M4A2 would be better as a premium in the American tech tree, as the Russians/Soviets have more than enough home made tanks available to replace it with a true Russian premium vehicle at 5.3 BR. Maybe a T-34-85 (D-5T) with an awsome unique historic skin.

Furthermore, I would really like if Gaijin cuts down on the number of copy-pasted Shermans in the game and the Russians don't need this M4A2 Sherman to balance their already awsome lineup at 5.3. :018:

On the other hand, as I said, the 76 mm-armed M4A2s were only used in combat by the Soviets, unlike the original 75 mm-armed models that saw use with the Marines in the Pacific (because there they didn't need the 76 mm to deal with the tanks they were fighting on the rare occasions that the Japanese had any on hand, and the 75 mm had a superior HE shell for dealing with fortifications too).

Also, why would somebody pay for a tank they could get for free in the same tech tree?  I know it's different in ground forces where you get lineups and having an identical premium basically gets you two spawns in the same tank in a given match, but still.  I mean I guess if they wanted they could do something like adding a T-34-85 themed after some old TV show from the Warsaw Pact era (I think it was a Polish show called 'Three Tankers and a Dog' or something to that effect), with the crew callouts being replaced with the sound of a barking dog as a reference to said show.

In any event, Gaijin doesn't take away stuff from people that already own it, so that's not going to happen.  What they could do is remove stuff from sale and replace it with new content, which they've done before (most recently replacing the old captured P-47 on the German tree with a more historically-accurate variant).

This is a valid option that Gaijin can use. "Hidding" the many copy-paste vehicles from any further purchase, players who owned these "hidden" premiums could then be given an option to sell these vehicles in a "Garage Sale" event! This would go a long way to remove many Sherman vs. Sherman encounters in realistic battle (RB) mode.

The new matchmaker changes everything in RB mode, as there no longer are any WW2-factions and all nations can meet eachother, that is why I think the in-game tech trees (especially the four major nations tech trees) have to be special and different. Otherwise there could just as well be a single huge tech tree as Danaaaaan suggested earlier in this thread.

Btw. on another note the in-game tech tree nations should use their current modern names and flags in the menus, as the game no longer is a WW2-based game. China and Italy already use their modern flags in the menus, whereas Germany, USA, Russia (USSR) and Japan still are represented by WW2-era flags. Update please... :good:

  • 2 years later...

Don't think that lend lease or captured vehicles are there to balance the games.

Some are fillers (M24, M18, Shermans) but they were actually used.

Some are for gold premiums, event, etc.

We just need that thoses vehicles should be taken out of SB battles.
