Enduring confrontation

  • Sicily (test version):

    • Added AI aircraft presets for rank 6 battles to those templates where it was required, as well as where the same aircraft preset was used beginning at rank V.
    • German aircraft in AI presets have been replaced with Italian aircraft.
    • All aircraft AI presets for all ranks have been changed.
    • The number of ground vehicles involved in the logic of the mission has been reduced in order to assess the load on the server and possibly fix errors that might arise due to a large number of simultaneously active AI vehicles. These errors might cause a lack of equipment in ground battles and in convoys.
    • The M163 airfield anti-aircraft guns, which were used in high rank battles, have been replaced with the M247 and Gepard.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

These Anti-Aircraft guns should be used on every airfield of every high rank battle. "Old AA" is simply useless against aircraft moving over 1000+km/h

I approve the AAA upgrade for both sides. However, AI M247s could be superior by a non negligible margin to Gepards, due to longer range and ESPECIALLY if shooting proximity fuze rounds.

 

If so, you may consider switching AAA defenses on axis airfields to Otomatics (maybe with artificially limited AI to only open fire at the same range as M247, for balance).

You could also use the top tier flaks. OTO, 2S6, ADATS.... I can Live with it too

Okay so, why dont we have modern AA systems on Air AB/RB already? Why on a mode wich has probably the lowest playerbase ingame... the biggest issues in Air modes are airfield strafes, same with spawncamp in Ground RB/AB. The PvE testmodes had AT guns placed around the map, why cant we have those for protecting the spawn in Ground AB/RB, and i know its maybe a part of the game to push the enemy team till the very end but... atleast give them a chance or REAL protection against the enemy or even an threat or challenge for the enemy than just few seconds of spawn protection... and yes i know more agressive AA on Air RB will push people more to camping and bailing out on the airfield but then make it that if they dont take off in like 10-15seconds it just counts as a loose of all enemy vehicles or whatever..
