Stona, the update guide didn't work for me. What to do?

I followed your guide, went into the WT folder (through steamapps/common) changed the name to War Thunder1, uninstalled War Thunder from steam and then changed the name back again and tried to install. 

Now steam refuses to acknowledge the files in my folder and just downloads the 33 gbs again.

In steam settings you have Download section. There you have steam library directory (or something, I do not use Steam in EN, so dunno how it's called there).

Be sure to have your disk with WT visible there. Steam should automatically find the files.
