Ja 37D - Active radar Viggen

Overview:

The JA-37D is a modification of the JA-37 fighter/interceptor. Like the JA-37 it is a Delta canard jet powerd fighter/interceptor made by SAAB. The planes were modified in 1997 They left service in 2005 with in total 36(not sure) JA-37's being modified to JA-37D's.

The modification was done so the JA-37 could use the RB-99(aim120B). It was given a more powerfull computer called the CD-207, some where  given the prototype TI 237 screen(made for gripen), it was given more datalinks between the different electronic systems. The software was also upgraded.

Hopefully they will add the JA37D when they add the JA37, it would make it easier to be able to give it aamraams later down the line when they are actual.

I meant that the variant of the ja37 they add would be the D variant instead of an earlier model.

There wouldn't really be any point in having an earlier JA37 Viggen since they're mainly the same, the only difference really is upgraded ability to carry countermeasures and RB99. It'd be easiest to add the JA37D and then just add the RB99 when they're ripe for the game. Performance wise they're the same.

i know but for the sake of progression and diversity i would take 2 models and hopefully the br gap between them is huge enough to not make them fight together or at least not every match , like a 1.0 difference , because early all aspect missile + fox 1 is pretty cool to me , later fox 2 with IRCM capability and fox 3 is less cool IMO

Now that I think of it, the only difference between the JA37C and the JA37D is the access of RB74's and RB99's. It's 12.0 material.

there are other differences like more ecm resistant radar, ground search mode for radar, datalink between 4 planes(2 on older), U95 jamming pod, automatic gun aiming(autopilot) and some other things

not lead indicator, the autoilot aims the whole aircraft for you automatically(like a aimbot)

The problem about the jamming pods is that I am pretty sure gaijin wouldn’t add them which would make most planes with that ability(or specialized in that ability in the future of Swedish aircraft that we will eventually get(gripen)) which would make them less effective or completely useless when it comes to having a chance to not be missiled. But overall+1

Doesn’t mean anything, they implemented a lot without passing the suggestions before, besides that, the JA37D wouldn’t be a whole new vehicle
