blastjustin 3 Report post Posted June 17, 2021 Today when launching war thunder through steam as normal a warning popped up saying if you do not recognise this plugin click delete and launch again, not having any plugins in war thunder I clicked delete as I didn't know what it was, now launching war thunder through steam as normal all i get is the launcher pop up instead of the game which works when clicking play but i want it to go back to just opening the game. did I do something wrong or do i need to change anything to go back. after checking the files the plugin is back which i assume is just an actual game file named WarThunderLauncherSciPromo.zip if anyone can help with this? relliK 3,228 Report post Posted June 17, 2021 the warthunderlauncherscipromo.zip only contains the pictures shown in the background of the launcher and a small script that is configuring how those pictures are getting displayed... that's it - it's not really needed and it does not configure the behaviour of the launcher itself. no clue where this message is coming from (could be Steam, could be your anti virus software, could be Windows (or Linux ?!) itself) neither do i know why Steam is running the launcher now instead of the game client directly and if there is a way to change it. blastjustin 3 Report post Posted June 19, 2021 After some messing around to find what to do to fix this on my machine ( windows 10 ) disabled malware/virus system so no interference restarted machine tried again but still no luck checked files for an update ( there was ) tried again still not working restarted machine renamed game files so steam could not view it renamed it back and got steam to check files again ( another update ) restarted machine opened again BUT gave me the 2 options this time closed the launcher again and re opened it again but this time no launcher and opened fine Not quite sure why this happened over the plugin error that came up or why the game detected its own file as bad but this was how I managed to fix it if this helps anyone else Share this post Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
