You have more qualified crew for this vehicle

5 minutes ago, Rulinlillian@live said:

*Answering question 3* because the plane is part of your vehicle collection.

*Answering question 1* because the vehicle is being put on a crew slot with another type of vehicle (tanks, helicopters, aircrafts, ships).

But I have tanks that do the same thing. Crew 4 and 5 both have tank skills, and no aviation. I buy a new tank, traing crew 4 with it. Crew #5 shows a ! for that tank. Why? I never assigned it to crew 5, I only ever assigned it to crew 4 and that crew has only army skills...

WT logic does not make sense,

how could bombs have such big precision?

Thread cleaned up, off topic hidden.

I will clarify a few things here as I saw this mentioned in the now-hidden comments below I do not intend for these to become talking points again as these were discussed in the now-hidden off topic discussions here. Please take this post as purely informational.

  • We do have a section where you can ask staff members questions directly. It is the Questions to the Team section. Here you can get a wide range of people answering your question, from volunteer moderators to employees.
  • The thread needs not be moved anywhere else, it is fine here and as such will stay here.

Cheers :salute:

Right, but if the UI "does not make sense", how do I use it to find out the issue I'm asking about :)

I don't understand this "You have more qualified crew for this vehicle" message.

Apparently you still didnt get an answer to this...not sure why...so i will try.

Each time you assign a crew to a specific vehicle it gets BASIC experience on that vehicle.

Usually you increase the experience level of ONE crew ON ONE SPECIFIC VEHICLE TO EXPERT...after that, THAT SINGLE CREW is experienced on THAT SINGLE VEHICLE and any other crew (with only BASIC experience) you try to assign the vehicle to will give you that message.

THIS is usually done MANUALLY by the players as a CREW UPGRADE on the "Qualification" tab in CREW.

https://wiki.warthunder.com/Crew_skills#Qualification_Levels

After you move into the game a bit it becomes EXPENSIVE to make a crew experienced on a specific vehicle, so you will usually have ONLY ONE CREW for each vehicle...and have to manage WHICH so that you have balanced lineups (all 6.0 vehicles on different crews for instance).

If you go to the "Qualification" TAB on any CREW you can see the vehicles it has training on (Basic) and the ones where you paid for Experienced...and the costs.

EDIT:

https://www.everythingwarthunder.com/guides/beginner-war-thunder-tips-in-2021/

If you go to section FOUR you see the screen i am talking about...that specific crew can fly a lot of planes, but only EXPERT in a few (like Hurricane MkI). As an example...if you try to allocate Hurricane MkI to another crew with only basic experience you will get the message you are asking about...

(You also see the rising costs of making crews experienced)

I don't think that answers my question though. I buy a new vehicle (V1). I assign that vehicle V1 to crew slot 1 (CS1).

I've never assigned V1 to any crew other than CS1. Yet V1 appears with a "!" on multiple crew slots, even then they've never been trained there.

Further, V1 is trained on CS1, CS1 has the highest crew level, yet V1 has "!" when I look at CS1.

It doesn't make sense to me.

I dont think this is how it works for me...i will check later as i am away from the game.

Each of my crews has a limited number of vehicles...only when crews were very cheap i had more than one crew on each vehicle...

I am assuming you are doing something by accident that attributes a SECOND (or more) crew to the vehicles...not sure what.

Can also be a bug...but i doubt it as i dont recall someone made the same complaint...

have a look at the vehicles (in question) on the research tree...

select the vehicle on which you want to see the training and qualification of the different crews (in your case the F3F-2)

and 'choose a crew' (this only works if the vehicle is not currently assigned to a crew !)

548745850_crew1.thumb.jpg.09cfa22b5aa186

the game will list (all of) your crews with their respective crew levels, training status (on that specific vehicle) and the

crew qualification (untrained, basic, expert, ace) - like on my picture crew #1 and #4 are trained on the BF 109 E-3

both with an expert qualification while on the other crews the plane is untrained (and it will cost SL if i assign the

plane to any of those crews)

1785852432_crew2.thumb.jpg.7acd558ccdd8b

now, i've assigned the E-3 to crew #4 and on the crew filter list there is no exclamation mark even though crew #1 has

a higher crew level... but it does not have a higher 'qualification' than crew #4 - that's what matters... (ofc crew #1 would

still be the better choice because of the higher crew level but sometimes you have to bite the bullet ^^)

so it's a matter of crew qualification and when the F3F-2 is shown with an exclamation mark you 'should' have a crew

with a higher qualification on it - and yes, this could have definitlely been made mode easy ^^
