An image says more than a thousand words. This occurred with 2.9.x so far twice - once on the Carpathian map, and once on the Korea map.

  • apemax changed the title to [Forwarded][10/09/2021] Black circle in the sky

Will give it a try. Might face two problems:

  1. The bug occurs not too frequently (though I had a pink blob in the sky briefly in a recent match)
  2. So far the AMDVLK driver has performed abysmal with War Thunder - I get say 30fps with it but a 120 with Mesa; all versions so far showed this behavior but since they updated it recently I'll give it a try again

Hello @Kanonenfutter20,

Right, Could you please upload the .clog file from that session as well as post your full system information as per the reporting guidelines?

@Tuxee,

Regarding AMDVLK performance, If the performance is still much lower it might be a good idea to report that to AMD on Github:

https://github.com/GPUOpen-Drivers/AMDVLK

It's already been forwarded to the Devs however as it started with a version 2021.Q2.1 of the AMDVLK driver it seems to a driver issue.

  • 2 weeks later...

Seeing the same issue here on older Nvidia card, only appeared after a recent update, though not sure if "Direct Hit" itself or one of the follow-up patches.

Would say it occurs occasionally or somewhat frequently, and usually goes away after looking well away from the affected area.

Had one occurrence where it persisted, in this case the sphere was "hanging low directly overhead" if that makes sense, so looking away wasn't really possible.

Observed different colors so far: pink, yellow and black

Some basic information below, will update post once I've familiarized myself with the bug reporting guide.

Hello @apemax,

updated system information and added .clog file from the session.

The issue did occur very frequently in the last match in that session, the black sphere constantly popping in and out, so logs of this match might yield good information.

Sorry I failed to take the screenshot since I didn't know how the keys for that were set up, but it looks exactly like in the original post. Let me know if you need it, and I will update.

Same issue as people mentioned above: random circles in various colors appearing around explosions, particles, reflections and lens flare, present since 'Direct Hit'.
