Hi, I want to introduce everyone the WTNews app, an application written in Dart language and with Flutter Framework.

 

Benefits of using this application:

1. Light and compact, takes very low amount of resources (CPU, RAM, Disk)
2. Fast and user-friendly, the UI is easy to understand and is not confusing
3. Get notified of Dev blogs, dev server, videos, events, etc. by receiving a Windows notification
4. See all the news in THIS and THIS sections
5. Get notification for new data mines
6. Ability to set a custom feed, receiving your own news
7. Minimize to tray to decrease the application's annoyance!

Feedbacks:

• All feedbacks are welcome, just drop a comment and if possible, I will either add the idea to planned works or fix the issue ASAP.

 

Installation:

1. Download the application from here by clicking on WTNews.zip
2. Unpack the archive to a directory
3. Run installer.bat as administrator if double-click doesn't work
4. Click on "Install" after MSIX is opened.

 

Usage:

1. Run the app (Can be searched using Windows search)
2. Let the loading progress end
3. Send the application to tray by minimizing it.

 

How to buy premium features:

1. Buy me anything (From cheapest to most expensive) from the Gaijin Store
2. Send me a PM in Discord or here on the forums
3. Have your premium feature(s) in WTNews app!

How to add custom url:

1. Hover over "Activity" button in the forum
2. Click on "My Activity Streams"
3. Click on "Create New Stream"
4. Set your stream up
5. Open stream's page
6. Url is like this ".../number/", remove the last "/" and replace it with xml: ".../number.xml"
7. Copy this url and paste in the text field of custom feed url in WTNews app
8. Click on Notify and enjoy (Open Custom Feed for it to work).

Yeah the whole idea was this, there is a 15 seconds interval between each check for new content, I will implement a way to increase / decrease this in the near future.

• Fixed a memory leak issue
• Most probably auto-update feature should work (For later updates)
• Settings page fixed, you can now set the app to start at startup
• Notification support for BR changes and economic changes has been added

Release 1.2.5.0 :

• Updating the application will no longer set the previous path as startup app
• Auto-update working as expected (Just rerun the app by searching WTNews in Windows Search)
• Improved close / minimize / settings buttons' design
• Background image removed and replaced with a simple dark gradient

auto update doesnt work for me. It is stuck on downloading 0%. Running it in admin didn't fix it. I'm using version 1.2.0

Try changing Wi-Fi network
It most probably is not accessing Github servers.

Using a proxy often fixes this

im using ethernet

 

I just updated manually to 1.2.5. I'll see if the issue persists for the next version

Ah, can you try using a proxy server (VPN, etc.)?

lol it was 2 seconds and it's 1.2 seconds now
