Unofficial 69IIG replacement speculation thread

Now that the 69IIG has been shelved, freeing up the Chinese 8.x pack vehicle slot, what is going to take its place? Will it be another ZTZ, a ZTQ, a ZTD, a ZBD, some VT tank, or simply a note from the devs saying "sod off, you already have the WMA and the 96A(P)"?

I don't think they'll add anything else. Right now, China has a similar situation as Germany where it has one pack premium, and one GE premium. I really just hope they don't make my beloved Type 59-II a premium, it hit me hard when they made the Type 59-I a premium already.

what do you mean? Germany has the Turm3 and leo L/44 as pack premiums. almost every country has 2+ pack premiums. Hoping china get the Jaguar MBT to replace the T-69 tbh, it would be perfect. T-55 with M68(L7) gun and western FCS would be pretty decent at 8.7

The Soviets have 2 Rank 6 pack premiums in their ground tree and 2 pack premiums and 1 GE premium in their air tree. Now whether the Chinese tree can get the amount of attention that the Soviet tree does is another issue but the point is the precedent exists for a tree to have 2 pack vehicles in a single rank.

I find it highly unlikely that Gaijin would shelve the 69IIG just to replace it with a similarly slow and half armored semi-westernized Reform era T-54. IMO whatever comes after the 69IIG is probably going to have guaranteed thermal sights, at least decent forward acceleration (730hp engine?) and/or some kind of exceptional performance attribute that makes it stand out at its BR (at least it should if Gaijin actually wants it to sell)

 

Now the 2000s 125mm ZTZ59s on the other hand...

(My personal opinion is that the Tanzanian model has the most drip among these and it's currently at the top of the list of things (along with the ST2 light export tank) I'd like to see become a new lower rank 6 pack premium assuming it has a proper turret drive, thermals and a 730hp engine)

I'm talking more in terms of tier 6 premiums, since that was the tier the Type 69-IIG is. I wouldn't mind seeing the Jaguar though! It could be a solid replacement for the Type 69-IIG.

Fair point about the Soviets, but I just am not sure on the prospect of there being another premium pack for China, though with Gaijin, who knows. I think the Jaguar would be a perfect pack premium if they wanted something to replace the Type 69-IIG.

In my opinion the Jaguar would be better implemented as a regular tech tree vehicle, similar as to how the MBT/KPZ 70 are implemented, as it really brings something new to Chinese players in terms of playstyle.

thats even more weaker than type 69 IIG

Some modernised variants of older chinese tank could be a great replacement or Tanks from VT series would be also a great addition.
