China's Type 69 medium tank is an improved version of the Type 59, using technology such as the Luna infrared headlights of the captured T-62 main battle tank, and has a three-defense system. Exported to Iraq was an improved version of the 69-IIA/B, which was commissioned in 1982, with a 100 mm rifled gun, a Type 889 radio, a fire control system with infrared headlights, a TSFC two-way gun stabilizer, a Type 70 gunner sight, a TLRLA laser rangefinder and a BCLA ballistic computer. 

 

The late-production 69-II had a fence-style storage basket at the rear of the turret, and it is unclear whether it could be used as fence armor. A 12.7 mm heavy machine gun was mounted on the loading hand hatch on the roof, with a reserve of 500 rounds, and a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun with a capacity of 3,000 rounds. The 69-II was armored entirely of homogeneous steel, with a turret thickness of 202 mm and a head of 100 mm. The hull is flanked by rubber side skirts, the interior is equipped with a three-defense system, and there are two groups of quadruple smoke grenade launchers on both sides of the turret.

There is an ammunition rack on the right side of the driver in front of the left, 3 periscopes are installed on the pilot's hatch, and the middle one can be disassembled or replaced with a low-light night vision goggle with a range of 50 meters, while the low-light night vision goggles of the gun commander and the commander are 800 meters. There are two diamond-shaped fillers behind the engine cover. 

 

 

In Warthunder, Type-69-IIA is hidden in game and it was added in Chinese server before. So it could be pretty easy to add in for every player.

Need to notice:

 

1: Rangefinder should be changed to laser rangefinder

2: 7.62 MG capacity reduced to 3000 

3: Gun depression should be changed from -4 to -5 degree

4. Fix the Chinese 100mm rifle gun accuracy

5. Change the combat weight from 36.5 ton to 36.7 ton

6.  Removed the 3bm25.  The 3bm25 is a Soviet APFSDS put in service in 1978,  at that time the Sino-Soviet split already happened and China has no way to get access to this dart.

     So it is better to remove the shell and lower the BR from 8.3 to 8.0

 

 

Now there is information regarding Chinese 100mm rifle gun APFSDS

The 100mm apfsds is called AP-100-2 and the penetration is 175mm at 2km, 60 degree inclined, so it is comparable to US 105mm M735.

Type 69-IIA could add this dart and put it in 8.3

 

Place in Warthunder

 

A more competitive medium tank placed in 8.0, reinforce the 8.0 line-up.

Or include powerful Apfsds put it in 8.3, reinforce the 8.3 line-up.

I would absolutely love to see this added with the 100 mm APFSDS mentioned. I know it's already in-game, but it uses the 3BM25 round, and I feel like giving it the same ammunition loadout as the T-55 wouldn't be right, but would also be a disservice to users of the Chinese tech tree. Give it its Chinese developed APFSDS round, and put it at 8.3, it could easily fit in with the other 8.3 tanks. +1 from me!

+1 This would be a good counterpart to the T-62 / T-55A (which should go back to 8.3) with its AP-100-2 APFSDS, it fills the 8.3 gap nicely, altough the ZTZ59D should go to 8.3

Dev server datamines showed a ZTZ69-2A be moved from rank 6 to rank 5 along with a BR change from 8.3 to 8.0. So if one wishes to hype themselves up, it might be coming soon.
