Suggested details and improvements to War Thunder


GENERAL GAME IMPROVEMENT:

Another very interesting change would be to see modification price in SL and GE in advance before researching and unlocking the mod. This info is available on wiki page so I do not see any reason why it should not be visible in the game.

Simple one, should be easy to implement and will dramatically increase new user retention and overall playerbase happiness.

 

Correct the matchmaker to this logic for player BR distribution in each match:

  • 5% bottom BR
  • 45% second from bottom BR
  • 45% second from top BR
  • 5% top BR

If the matchmaker is modified to this logic, or very similar, the game will be infinitely more enjoyable, for players of all skill-levels.

I started playing wt again actively about 6-7 weeks ago, and since that time

 

- ammunition was broken across multiple game modes

- air field aaa was broken in air modes

- ground markers were changed in assault

- crashes in naval

 

 

each of these issues caused me to play less, i came over to play naval, and dabbled a bit into air.  The current state of the code, with crashing in naval, means I'd better find something else to do as I lost 3 boosters with the last crash and I'd rather not waste my time playing with the risk of a crash kicking me out.

add different damaging and destroying of decorations on tanks.

add melting and damaging effects to decals on tanks

add vibration effects to ground terrain from bombs,heavy tanks movemnts.

Create maps that target a specific range of BRs / Tiers and stop trying to use the same maps for high and low tier tanks.

 

By way of example, Ash River (and several others I can think of) was a very fun map originally designed for low tier tanks.  The attempts to make this map workable for high tier tanks has only resulted in it being degraded over the years as a result of "improvements" (and it still doesn't work well for high tier, and likely never will).  The answer isn't to move these out of the rotation for tanks in general, it's to align it with tiers where it's a good fit.

 

Understand that one size may not fit all, and that it's more likely that a map for high tier tanks can fit low tier tanks, than the inverse (although that's certainly not going to always be the case... Red Desert is too large for low tier tanks (given the 32-tank cap for standard battles).

I am not sure if this is a thing already, but I would like to decrease the rangefinding time with crew skills. Would not apply to laser Rangefinders.

Minor thing, but when an enemy vehicle is between you and an ally, the blue markers of the ally should be hidden. I died multiple times because enemy tanks looked like teammates, because one somewhere on the map lined up with the enemy perfectly in that moment.

Kill cam is a good thing but I would rather like to see it the way CoD does it. So you know if the player had shoot you through the walls and rocks or it was solid view. 

 

And I would like to see blur applied for background so that you see the tank but do not see much of position.

That's a better idea.  Or maybe just show their gunner's view to weed out the potential cheaters.

Commanders using binoculars could be modelled and made vulnerable.   WW2 tanks had periscopes and/or vision blocks in the commander's cupola which were used when the tank was buttoned-up.  These could be made available through the mechanic that's already used for displaying commander's sights in higher tier vehicles.

 

It came to my attention that Soviet WW2 tank commanders often lacked binoculars:

Update the Achievements/Challenges to include newly introduced vehicles.   For example the Ace Churchill Tankman can be earned using the German Churchill, though not if you are using the Churchill Crocodile or the Churchill IV NA 75.

My suggestion is to balance game better allow certain nations weapons they used and nerf a whole lotta USSR stuff back to reality..... Like cmon play naval againts russian ships and you and you would assume they had bestest navy ever when in reality well it sucked.

Biggest prob in air is undertiered russian madness fighting aircraft from 50's with all aspect 30g missiles while they dont even have flares...

Ground is just lol BMP'S KA50'S and lol and behold a modern air defence system againts no modern counterparts just rofl..... You could make game alot better balance but for some reason you prefer to pump the tires up of one nation

Custom ammo belts for Aircraft, there is allready custom loadouts, but custom belts dont even have a suggestion, perhaps someone can make one?

What do you mean? Custom bomb/rocket loadouts are a thing, otherwise i dont know what you mean.

Of course such was real, there were suggested contents for different tasks and locations, but in the end it was up to the crew and what was available.

My suggestion:

 

Please add skill to loader crewman what decreases reloading time of  tank machine guns. Also loader should have skill what decreases reloading ammo at cap point.

 

While this is not problem for USA tech tree , its a bit irritating for Soviet tech tree. USA have 200 round 50. cal in ammo box . But Soviets only have 50 round ammo boxes for 12.7 mm and 14.5 mm machine guns. It means constant reloading when defending against aircrafts. 

 

So as playing Soviets then its pretty normal to resupply in cap points since ammo capacity is low. Generally about only 250-300 heavy MG rounds. For example USA usually have 600-1000 rounds for heavy machine gun. 

 

And while some tanks have same MG(roof mounted and in turret) then their ammo is separate. I understand that is historical reasons - the ammo bins and feeding could be different.
