>>>Dev Blog<<<

[...] ZTZ99A receiving a new 1,500 horsepower diesel engine [...] being able to attain a top speed of 75 km/h on paved roads. Furthermore, a new transmission eliminates the poor reverse speed of the older modifications with the ZTZ99A now being capable of reaching up to 34 km/h while going in reverse.

i dont know how to feel about that reveal.. the whole reason the engine deck was made taller was to fit the 1500HP engine and new transmission. the only explanation for this to be 1200hp is that gaijin messed up on what they thought is the ztz99a.

I don't know why they have to wait till after dev streams they to get the stats of Chinese tanks changed, but I think they're going to correct them at some point before release (might need to push them with a couple of bug reports but overall I'm cautiously optimistic about the situation).

This is from the dev server. It's easy to kill the crew. Shoot the optics on the right and it's a headshot to the gunner. Shoot the unarmoured area around the mantlet area, the commander and gunner is sitting directly behind it.. Compared to ZTZ99, this is not the case. Both crew are completely behind the turret armour. Gunner's head is not sticking out.

There's a saying in the Chinese community:一测看模型 (1st dev server is for external models only). As long as it is not finalize for official debut, it is very normal a new tank has odd placement

Yeah it doesn’t make any sense that the two crew members who are sitting inside the turret would be sitting really close to the cupola. Also both crew members are supposed to sit lower than the turret ring.

Also here is reference that the Two Crew members inside the 99A Should be lowered down more and their heads should be as parallel as the Cannon Breach. Their heads are not as close at the roof or the cupola, hopefully this would be fixed on the 2nd dev server!

Your reference is not showing but I agree, otherwise all that beefy turret armour is just a waste

Which Reference?

Both of the crew members are supposed to sit below this line I drew. Also I had to take your screenshot @IQuitAfter1Deathbecause I don't have the dev server downloaded yet and I don't really want to do that, so I apologize about it.

The LFP is always gonna be a bad weakspot and atm the mantlet isn't modeled, it should be thicker than the other 99s.

In regards to the crew, they're positioned way too high atm and their heads should be barely above the gunbreech:

Gaijin might artificially nerf it like they always do with most mantlets but it could still be good enough to keep out weaker rounds like DM33 etc, even then, if the composite armor is good, which it should be some of the best in the game, angling the turret as soon as an enemy is expected to shoot at your breech can properly protect your breech from being damaged.

The annoying thing about this tank is probably gonna be the gun mantlet because it doesn't have any armor protecting the breach, but maybe in the second dev server, they might add more armor into it so that it would protect the breach even more. That is what I am trying to say earlier about  their heads because their heads are way too high, which almost touches to the roof or the cupola.  Also both crew members head are supposed to be parallel as the Cannon Breach, since there is an image I have posted.

Also, will Gaijin add an ERA Block that is the left side of the Gun Mantlet? So that it would add more protection into it.

I forgot to mention this, can anyone go to the Community Gaijin to report about this bug, please? It's because of the crew layout or how their crew members are placed inside the turret. If not I can try to do this but I am gonna need to use your screenshots because I am currently not in the dev server and I don't really want to wait.

The expanded LFP is certainly going to cause problems, though I'm more concerned about driver's seat being shifted left the since it puts the driver in line with the gunner.

Also I believe it was mentioned a while ago that the 99A uses cookoff resistant propellant charges or something? Don't know how well those can work realistically but if they do I hope that's going to be reflected in WT.

Yeah that is another thing I am most concerned too because if a tank shell hits the lower glacis, it may or may not have a higher chance exploding the ammo, since the driver is shifted to the left and aligned with the Gunner. Also if Gaijin lowers the Gunner down of where it's sitting, it might have a higher chance of killing Both Driver And Gunner when a tank shell hits the left side of the lower glacis.

Yeah I knew about that! But thanks! Also why is the 99A's Chassis looks like the backside is a little slanted, isn't it supposed to be straight? Also if it was more straight, that means more NATO hump.
