TL;DR: The newest version of the earlier EMBT. Now equipped with Trophy, 30mm autocannon, and many other improvements.

There is a companion suggestion for France written by CaID:

History:

German and French companies have dominated the European export market for decades, with designs like the Leopard and AMX-30 seeing massive both export and combat success. Many companies from these countries are aware of their dominance and have decided many times to cooperate in an attempt to combine their knowledge and experience into a successful export vehicle marketed by both companies. Cooperations like these led to several interesting Franco-German vehicles being developed and offered for export, such as the DF 105, AMX-30 Super, and, more recently, the EMBT. Built in 2015 and first unveiled in 2018 at EuroSatory 2018, the EMBT was the result of a cooperative development between KMW and Nexter. The EMBT was relatively simple in design. It was a Leclerc turret mated to a Leopard 2A7 hull. This combined many of the best qualities of both tanks into a single platform. While this vehicle was offered for export, it was more of a proof of concept than anything else; proof that the two companies could work together seamlessly as a single team. Despite no orders being placed, development of the EMBT was considered a success as the two companies had proved that they could work together. As such, development on a more ambitious version of the EMBT began. The fruit of this development would be shown off in 2022 at EuroSatory 2022 under the name of EMBT, though I will call it EMBT (2022) to avoid confusion. Unlike the previous EMBT, the EMBT (2022) features a completely new purpose-built turret equipped with the Trophy APS, a remotely controlled 30mm autocannon, and a very hefty commander sight equipped with a 7.62mm MG. The shape of the new turret suggests that its armor is reduced compared to other MBTs. This is likely due to the Trophy APS being an integral part of the design. The main cannon is the CN120-26, the same cannon found on the Leclerc series, and is fed by a 22-round autoloader. The hull of the new behemoth is a largely unmodified Leopard 2A7 with only the front seeing improvements. The EMBT (2022) will be in direct competition with Rheinmetall's KF51 Panther.

Place In War Thunder:

War Thunder is very quickly approaching the limit when it comes to unique modern vehicles. Nowadays, most countries use and upgrade a single MBT family. This is great for logistics but terrible for War Thunder because it makes nearly every MBT a copy-paste of itself. Having 10+ Leopard 2s in the German tech tree may sound good for some, but for many, researching the same tank over and over again isn't too terribly fun. Luckily, the arms market is ever expanding with new and unique designs being unveiled every year. The EMBT (2022) is one such design. It features a familiar hull with a strange Halo-looking turret, bringing some much needed visual uniqueness to the German high-tier MBT experience. The EMBT (2022) would fit in perfectly as the crown jewel of the heavy tank line after the KPz-70.

Specifications:

would be nice for both factions, give them third generation thermals, APS, and the sort. probably wouldn't even be too unbalanced current-game, depending on the amount of turret armor it has.

+1  -   Hm, yea Kpz-line is best for this, the TT could look like this then:

Leopard 2A6  -> 2A7 (V / +)  ->  2A7A1

Kpz-70  ->  EMBT (2022)  ->  Leopard ATD (120mm / 130mm*)  ->   KF-51

TAM 2C  ->  Puma (with MELLS)  ->   Boxer variant(s)

* when its a thing

imo should go into the french tech tree

maybe for the Need, France would need it more
since the German do have the Leopard 2A7 and KF-51 and a bunch of other other Leopard 2 that could add some meet for Germany
while France only have some more Leclerc with the same gun and without APS or 30mm AA gun

but in the matter of history, the EMBT is literally developped by both country and for a future use in both country. as for now it's a prototype/technology demonstrator, but eventually it will give birth to the sucessor of the Leopard and Leclerc.

so Both country deserve it equally.

Do not forget there is 2x EMBT version

one from 2017 was a Leopard 2A7 with a Leclerc S2 turret
and this one who have a improved Leopard 2A7 hull and a new Turret

France still can get the Second Vehicle with a different Chassis so its a thing to blame Gaijin instead of blaming Germany:dntknw:

It worked with the MBT/KPZ which are almost totally equal so it should work with the EMBT.

i made a analisys to estimate the dimention of the new 120mm Shard based on the picture

WmUpKJg.png dDQzyhc.jpg

so the Shard shall have a dimension around those

Diameter = 24mm
length = 796mm
Frustum = 68 mm
velocity = 1720 m/sec
penetrator = Tungsten

with the help of @Laurelix we could estimate the penetration of the Shard as fallow

Penetration statistics
Ammunition Type of
warhead
Penetration @ 0° Angle of Attack (mm)
10 m 100 m 500 m 1,000 m 1,500 m 2,000 m

OFL 120 F1 APFSDS 575 573 565 557 547 537
120 Shard APFSDS 675 673 665 657 647 637

OCC 120 G1 HEATFS 1,100 14.4 0.05 0.1 2,150 65° 72° 77°
OFL 120 G1 APFSDS 1,780 3.8 N/A N/A N/A 78° 80° 81°
OFL 120 F1 APFSDS 1,790 3.8 N/A N/A N/A 78° 80° 81°
120 Shard APFSDS 1.720 est. 5.7 N/A N/A N/A 78° 80°

81°

i leave the original rounds in-game for the 120mm so we have a point of comparison. we know that Gaijin Nerf a bit the APFSDS for balance purpose so it may have a penetration reduced of about 30mm in all distance but it would remain a pretty good rounds regardless.

at the same time, the French gun also have the OFL 120 F2 who is made of DU. it shall give a penetration of around 600mm at short distance. but it was withdraw from services in the 2000s because of the policy on the matter of Depleted Uranium use. so the EMBT wouldn't get it (only the Leclerc S2 and XXI could get it)

additionally the 30mm also have decent performence. the information about the rounds is hard to find as the gun is pretty recent, but it appear to be using the same rounds as the Tigre HAD

but i could understand there is at least 3 combat rounds
a APHE also called SAP
a API
a HEI

the SAP source is less reliable, but could be found around the net. but the other are reliable and based on this Website
https://cbcdefense.com/products/caliber/30x113mm/

i suggest to give it a generic belt of API/HEI/SAP/HEI
this belt would be much more effective against aircraft than ground target. but could still be dangerous for the light vehicles.

It should give a penetration around this
