TheFluffyVehicle 5 Report post Posted June 22, 2022 ok time for the whine fest! I've recently decided to pick up the hilariously insane idea of stock grinding the Swedish helicopters without a premium account or the cheat of just buying the premium "skip" button also known as the Mi-28, of all the things that's so far come to my attention it's that they have a laughably horrible loadout EVERYWHERE! or should I say... somewhat ok considering the fact that at the least it's not China with the only option being literally "Pay to play" but I hold my point... Part 1 a hard start Sweden's first helicopter is the good old Huey! a wonderful helicopter with a varied loadout of 1 option! this must be an error lemme check again! nope! only 1 loadout of 6 AGMs with a blistering top speed of! 85m/s... oh my the Huey can almost fly as fast as this! there must be some guns strapped to this thing... wait, THATS IT?! it only has 6 missiles that can barely go faster than the helicopter itself? well I guess it's a good thing we have the PvE gamemode now with the average progression of 100 RP per minute of gameplay well I guess the next helicopter will be nice Part 2 the next helicopter is also horrible WHAT?! this can't be! now I only have 4 AGMs?! well hopefully it's 4 guns should do... they removed those to make room for the bouncy suspension didn't they? of course they did... well I can at the least cope with the fact these AGMs go 2½ times as fast. which will make it viable to hit with to a certain extent in both PvE and PvP although I don't have high hopes. but this thing isn't exactly an apache and that's alright. it just feels like cruel and unusual punishment after the Huey! the novelty of the floats doesn't make this Alouette any better than it's brothers in France and Germany, in fact I'm pretty sure it makes it worse and just speaks to how gimped the Swedish helicopters are compared to the other nations Part 3 we have guns! onto the next one (and the one after as they are the same)! this thing looks like the little bird's bigger and significantly fatter mom. it gets a solid loadout of 8 TOW missiles and in the case of the next one 4... which seems like a bit of a downgrade, they're fast and have solid pen and accuracy! and oh my! we have a gunpod! finally I can waste ammo on the open topped vehicles or weak skinned things that I don't need to worry or cry about anymore! it's only a .50 cal but that 30mm of pen is good enough for me! it seems a little weird to me that they've chosen to stretch these almost functionally identical helicopters out over 2. as if the implementation of NVDs in the targeting system (I will add that the pilots most likely would be wearing NVGs instead on the first one) and Gaijin has seemingly nerfed the 2nd one with halfling it's AGM capability because of it's newfound thermals which is only a real gamechanger for PvP to a certain extent but with the range of 3.75km you won't really be able to hide much from SPAA anyways Part 4 because of course they get an Apache so Sweden got an Apache? for some reason unknown to anyone else than people who knows that Sweden only actually has the HKP9 as their attack helicopters. it's an Apache. but a slightly gimped one because it's not the US Apache there isn't anything new to this. Part 5 the money that speaks So I guess I'll just give my general opinion on the Mi 28 it's got alright loadouts and the usual Mi28 missiles but once again it's slightly gimped because you know premium plus not actually being used by Sweden Part 6 historical issues Sweden has had a tendency of having their own homegrown insane ideas like the most of their airtree and obviously their tanks, this meant when it comes to their weapons it would also be reflected through their choices of AGMs on for instance the Huey which is an odd choice but I sadly don't know enough about it to give a informed opinion so I'm gonna leave it like that. Sweden's last attack helicopter was the Hkp9, and they've not used anything else than utility helicopters like Merlins and Black hawks. Sweden did do extensive testing between the Mi 28 and the Apache a while back but concluded it wasn't worth as they ended up investing their money elsewhere like for instance the air force but also just general social programs in Sweden, this means that the Swedish top BR helicopters are purely based on a hypothetical because of a need to give Sweden a top BR helicopter rather than stopping where it actually ended I will give Gaijin props for choosing the Apache as Sweden has been a close NATO ally for years and would likely choose it because of that. Part 7 suggested changes in the name of balance and user experience so finally I think we should touch on the issues plaguing the Swedish helicopters, they just have no offensive options at ALL! you get 1-2 weapons per helicopter you can choose from (discounting the Apache and the Mi 28) there is no such thing such a dumb fire rockets and while I'm pretty sure Sweden never used dumb fire rockets on their Hkp9 it would heavily benefit their future in this game, I don't mind the lackluster options in AGMs but the lack of alternative weaponry is down right cruel and a bait for Sweden players to waste their SL and spawn points in battles. I recommend giving the Huey and the Alouette machineguns and in the case of the Huey give it access to some kind of rocket pod, you can always rip off the rockets from the Lansen and the Viggen as options. I'm unsure if it's possible to implement it it would be nice to see something like a door gunner on the Huey if a gun pod isn't an available option. the Hkp9 should probably be condensed into 1 helicopter or given a more significant difference than just 2 less TOWs per launcher and NVGs because they are functionally identical, and honestly feels like something added just to pad out the tree. it's ok to keep the Apache as Sweden most likely won't adopt a new attack helicopter as it partly doesn't suit their doctrine and the Swedish air force probably won't consider getting another kind until someone invents something new and revolutionary. 3

Eyeless_Camper 80 Report post Posted June 22, 2022 Wait, you complain about historical issues and then say "you can always rip off the rockets from the Lansen and the Viggen as options." But that would be unhistorical as they were never used like that...

gives_no_Fs 337 Report post Posted June 26, 2022 HKP3C should not have been the stock helicopter. It should have been an event reward meme. HKP2 should be cheaper and have better multipliers than Alouette IIs since it has the same missiles but not the guns, and the guns help a lot. HKP9A should not be that high in BR and expensive, was not fun to fly alongside 8km 10km range teammates and grind with, even though it is super agile and nice to fly. I dominated hard with it, like I did the HKP2 in my grinding despite going against Ka50s and Apaches. HKP9A(FC) should also not see Ka50s and Apaches when it's grinding in heli PvE, it's got four 3.75km range missiles and nothing more, forget the strangely weak feeling gunpods, but it has thermals making it worth its 9.7 BR for RBGF, even though they moved CV90 BILL up to 10.0 for no reason at all. Come on, four missiles. Four kills per minute. Ka50s and Apaches can make over one kill per second. At least this is super nice and fun for CAS. AHS is justifiable for real because it would have happened with a government not of the "LETS NOT HAVE A MILITARY TO DEFEND OURSELVES WITH" kind (which they all became in the 00's), and everybody deserves a top tier. Italy right now should be with a Lancer, like. Mi28A happened only because premium money$$$$$$$$$$$ and I'd rather seen the modernized Finnish MD500 for that with stingers because that's what it could carry and maybe will for real soon, since it's time to switch things up with regards for defense. Thermals for pilot and gunner too. I'd have taken that for a premium even though it would not have been much to grind with.

GomesPT 309 Report post Posted December 9, 2022 Does anyone know why the Swedish attack helicopter AHS does not have any AGM-114B Hellfire when stock, unlike the other top tier helicopters which have ATGM when stock? When stocked, the Swedish attack helicopter AHS can only equip rockets.
Technical Moderator blockhaj 3,560 Report post Posted December 19, 2022 Part 1: Hkp3 was a breeze spading for me, never touched pve. Theoretically it can mount regular NATO pylons like the German UH-1D and thus could be buffed with 6x RB52s of several variants (APHE for example). Part 2: Hkp2 one is a pain and god do i hate it. It was tested with a single ksp m/58B (FN MAG), so that could be added to it. It could also be buffed with more RB52 types. Part 3: Hkp9 could all be buffed with RWR if needed. They have the mounts for it. FFV also developed a helicopter smoke screen which i still lack info on, but that could be a cool addition. The gunpods can also be buffed with more ammo, lighter weight and Raufoss Mk 211 ammo (HEI-APCR). Part 4 & 5: We also tested the Eurocopter Tiger in 1998 (SE marked with a Moose painted on it). Part 6: A-historical issues was a given from day one. Still, the hkp8 (hkp9 test vehicle) is missing from the tree (different sight, M65 TOW launchers). Apache was proposed to use Swedish RB17 Hellfire anti ship missiles and potentially 135 mm rakkaps m/70 rocket pods (those on the Viggens). Part 7: Make the hkp2 the starter heli and give it the 7,62 mm ksp 58B mg with 250 rounds (standard ammo box). Give the hkp3 6x RB52 as an upgrade. Give the hkp2 and hkp3 the three main Swedish RB52 variants RB52A: SS.11A1, charge Type 125 AC (HEAT anti-tank warhead with 550 mm pen) RB52SE: SS.11B1 TCA, charge Type 140 AP02 (SAPHE anti-personell warhead with 20 mm ish pen, second gen guidance, no IR-signal, etc) RB52PE: SS.11B1 TCA, charge Type 140 CNN (HEAT anti-ship warhead with 100+ mm pen, second gen guidance, no IR-signal, etc) Add the hkp8 (MBB 105 test vehicle with a Hughes/British Aerospace roof sight, the same as the British Lynx) with 8x TOW-1s (RB55A) and the early FFV 0127 gun pod (steel body, 12,7 mm akan m/39A mg, 150 rounds. Swedish gr m/45 HEI-AP ammo). Give the hkp9s RWR as an unlockable, as they have the mounts for it, and the FFV helicopter smoke screen (when info is found). Also the late FFV 0127 gun pod (glass fider body, 12.7 mm FN M3M (GAU-21), 200 rounds, Raufoss Mk 211 HEI-APCR ammo). Give the AHS and Mi-28 more specified names of AHS 95/SF "Apache/Havoc" (Attackhelikoptersystem 1995/studieförsök "Apache/Havoc"). Refine the armament of the AHS Apache to feature Swedish TOWs, Swedish Hellfires and 135 mm rakkaps m/70 rocket pods. Give Apache and Havoc swedifyed names for their weapons (70 mm psrak FFAR, etc).
