Chosin1950@live 4 Report post Posted June 29, 2022 i would love if they did this again. would be cool to create like a whole lineup, army, navy, airfare, coastal, heli. and get to use it in 1 battle.1 big complex battle. ea and bf2042 wont compete with such a possible experience.they dont have the dev team. imagine getting wrecked in the sky and following up with a uss sumner or something and just unloading on the enemy in the the right conditions to rebalance the fight.

LeChance 926 Report post Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) I think a lot of players wanted/expected an Open World/Arena style/Sandbox kinda thing with territorial acquisition & defense as the main goals. I know I did. But what we got wasn't like that, more like a board game with battles very similar to the Random Battles we all play every day anyway as the deciders of how things went on the "board". While I liked the "command structure" being put in the game, we have ZERO of that in regular games, I found it difficult to get behind how it was implemented, Squadrons were basically in control, shutting out yolo/solo players for the most part. And the "funnel to the top" benefit structure was just . . well, seemed like very bad idea to me. Benefits for the few at the cost of the many . . not good. I always imagined taking some of the existing ground maps, tying them together at the borders and adding some strategic airfields here and there and making a combined arms scenario for this. I mean they have plenty of maps, it's just getting them placed together. This might even allow for some naval implementation, while I imagine much more difficult to implement. Having some coastal ports of some maps used for defense/capture would be interesting. All in all, that would be a HUGE undertaking and having say . . 128 players per team might just blow up some of the servers . . . lol. Plus, if it was good, you'd have a LOT more than a few 128 player teams chomping at the bit to get into such a game mode. And the games could run hours/days . . . leaving HUGE lumps of missing players from the regular queues . . . Don't get me wrong, I would love to see such games and would like to try my hand at them, but the scale and level of work and resources required just make it seem out of reach. I have participated in all of WWM's, to a degree, since they started it, but another rendition of what we have been having would most likely be a pass on my part should it return . . . which is too bad. The idea and what the players want just need to come a LOT closer in my opinion. We can always hope. But if I were guessing, I'd say we'll continue to get more of the same . . . until we don't, at which point things will change . . . . Good Luck Edited July 4, 2022 by LeChance

Good Luck That's pretty much what I was hoping for from world war mode after the years and years of development. I wanted an EC game on steroids with a huge air map and actual tank battles popping in on the frontlines. What we ended up getting was a clunky board game that was locked to arcade mode with very short and unbalanced battles.

Only the first rendition was Arcadey, after that, they made it a toned version if RB, which, as a mostly Arcade player, was fine with me. "Elitists" and their complaints about how things work have never been good for the game. But I do not see them making separate "mode" related versions of these things either. So the "compromise" is what we got, which was ok by me, but there will ALWAYS be those that complain, regardless . . which makes it even harder on the game developers and causing strife amongst the player base too. . . . it is what it is. But yeah, I agree, there are a lot more options besides the mode they made and gave us . . just not sure we will ever see anything like that . . not any time soon I wouldn't imagine . . . . ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Im glad they finally brought Naval EC back fir the weekends at least and im still hoping they eventually change their minds on Air RB EC.
