Server Update 07.07.2022


Aircraft 3 USSR Yellow_b14056cd9fdf45b3c

  • A new UI has been enabled for aircraft that displays flight parameters, engine mode, ammo capacity and aiming markers for bombs and missiles.
  • An error has been fixed that sometimes caused lack of damage from pressure to the crew of ground vehicles with the transmission located in the crew compartment when the transmission was hit.
  • Pressure damage area when AP shells with a mass of explosives of 0.2-0.5 kg detonate inside the tank has been increased. 

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

the new UI  still  has the issue of showing too large seekers.

why introduce it again when it still has bugs

I would also like it if the missile seekers kept the white color or at least could be changed with a seperate option. Currently they're the same color as the radar screen which is really annoying

UI change is somewhat nice, glad you made the colour for AAM seeker cone be different to the UI for parameters, currently a bug though. If you have Walleye's equipped and get a lock, it sifts the number next to the text over by 1 or 2 units because it tries to fit the "track" text within the GBU and Value space when you lock a vehicle up

I find the new UI easier to read so definitely an improvement as far as I'm concerned.

 

However, is it intentional that there is now no color indication that a missile is locked and ready to be launched? Previously the whole line turned red but that doesn't seem to be the case any longer. Which is especially confusing in case of radar-guided ones because unlike the heat seeking ones they also don't emit that growling sound. So right now there is simply no way of knowing what the actual state of the missile is.

The text and timer for Torpedoes no longer exists in the UI. I've tried multiple aircraft along with multiple loadouts i.e. rockets and torps, torps only etc. Everything else shows up except the torpedo text - the torpedoe counter - and the reload timer. I guess one of the devs forgot to include torpedoes

Any changes only make sense when done right. Current aiming markers for bombs in AB are week. Not only the green color is completely inappropriate (previously red or even older yellow were much better), it does not work properly. it is completely unknown when to drop the bombs (currently the marker does not change color at all). Is there any hope of going back to the previous version or at least fixing the current one?

The color for the WEP indicator is way too red. Also, for planes without WEP but with 110% throttle it now shows white. It should still be showing red.

The overheating red color is also way too red and does not seem to match the in game color selector.

The ammo reloading indicator is now white, which makes it really hard to tell without a closer reading if you're reloading or not. Please restore the red color for reloading.

The bomb impact marker color in Air Arcade should be selectable. Green is too low contrast since 90% of the ground is green. Please restore the white color.

  • WEP red is far too bright.

 

  • Bomb sight green is also too bright, and also it's GREEN, like a lot of the terrain below us. There's not enough contrast now.

 

  • The ammunition reload timer doesn't change to red when I do a manual reload. It only goes red if ammunition is run down to zero and the reload starts automatically. As a frequent manual reloader this is a bit annoying as I now have to keep watching it, rather than having the peripheral vision of the colour change to let me know I'm good to go.

 

Please please PLEASE change things back to the way they were, or at least make it customizable, so we can adjust to suit.

 

I'll trade you for my Holiday fireworks?  :p:

Hi Stona, I am wondering why the helicopters parameters are not positionned top-left like the airplanes one? I think it would be better for visibility.

I'm not sure if it's a BUG or "feature" but others mentioned it here as well.
I would like to add that I agree.
Lock On AAM no longer indicate text that the missile is locked on. 
When I activate the seeker for a Sparrow Missile, I get the "PWR" txt, but after that there is no text to notify I have a missile lock. 
The IR missiles get "TRACK" when locked on. 

Currently it is impossible to know when you have a lock in Simulator battles with a sparrow.

Please fix.
