# Description

Currently, in-game the AMX-13-90 weighs 15.5t:

 

This is incorrect though. The upgrades made to create the AMX-13-90 not only did not add weight to the base AMX-13, it in-fact saved quite a bit of weight in of itself:

 

 

 

 

 

Note that the F3 gun on AMX-13-90 is in-fact just the 75mm SA50 rebored to 90mm to accept the standard ammo already being used in service with AML, ELC and EBR, but using a longer, heavier casing which gave it a much higher muzzle velocity:

Note, the velocity for the EBR's rounds were printed out of order. The weights are ordered correctly though. I just don't want there to be any confusion there:

Also note the original 75mm ammo weighed in at 14.1kg:

 

Multiply that by the number of rounds we have in-game stored in AMX-13, 36rds, and we end up with a total ammo weight of 507.6kg.

 

If we start out assuming the upgraded AMX-13-90 weighs almost the same as the base AMX-13 unloaded (due to the barrel losing weight in the reboring process, then a small amount added back for the thermal sleeve, we'll call it even) we will start out with 14.5t for a fully loaded base AMX-13, instead of 14.7t as it is currently, which is covered in an accompanying report:

 

So, 14.5t-(14.1kg x 36=507.6kg)=13992.4kg. If we then turn around and add back the weight of the 90mm ammo: 13992.4kg+(8.9/8.95kg x 34=302.6/304.3kg)=14.295/14.297t.

 

Depending on the source, the OCC 90 Mle 62 for AMX-13 weighs between 8.9-8.95kg, so the final weight comes in at 14.295/14.297t, or just 14.3t for simplicity.

 

In conclusion, the weight for AMX-13-90 should be corrected from 15.5t to 14.3t .
