Tank 2 UK Yellow_44430d53258fd0da5db55e6

Aircraft

  • Automatic selection of the next suspended weaponry after full consumption of the selected one has been added. Selection of the next weapon will be done with a 1 second delay to avoid accidental firing during volley fire.
  • Kfir C.2/7, Nesher, Mirage 5F, Mirage F1C/СT, Mirage 2000 — instability of the directional damper has been fixed (with auto control enabled an aircraft might sideslip while the rudder is enabled).

Ground vehicles

  • VRCC — Turret armour scheme has been clarified. The material of the turret armour has been changed from aluminium alloy to high hardness armour. Thickness has been changed from 20mm to 15mm.
  • M3 GMC — A bug which caused the unit not to apply transmission changes specified in the changelog of the “Drone Age” update has been fixed.
  • Challenger (all), Vickers Mk.7 — The order of ammo racks consumption has been clarified.

Naval

  • A bug has been fixed where a target lock might be disabled by objects in the line of sight, or by moving the camera to the side.

Enduring Confrontation and Helicopter PvE

  • The situation where team B bombers would stop respawning in a number of situations has been fixed.
  • In helicopter PvE the ground forces of team A now always counterattack if they manage to win ground battle in which team B was the attacker.

Other changes

  • Fixed a number of bugs that caused the game to crash in Linux

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

Bad change, can it be a toggle instead? I liked not having it auto switch. It give's us time to actually jettison empty equipment, now jettison is practically useless.

Can confirm, accidentally jettisonned my r60m just because I took too much time to drop my rockets pods....

I'm not a fan of this change Either. I liked the way it was on Day one where we could MANUALLY switch out empty Secondaries because it gave me a chance to Jettison any Dead Weight of Spent Rocket Pods or Bomb/ATGM Racks. I think it should either be brought back or be as an Option in the Options Menu.

In the Options Menu, can add a Toggle to "Automatically Switch Spent Secondary" or something of that nature. Or, if possible, make an Option to set a "Auto Jettison Spent Secondary" so when the Secondary is used up, it can be Auto Jettisoned thus removing the extra dead weight without the need to push an extra button.

On a Separate Note, I also think a "Jettison ALL Secondaries" button that Jettisons all EXCEPT AAMs or External Gun Pods and TGPs should be a thing. This way if I'm about to be attacked, say in an A-10 with multiple Secondaries, Instead of Switching between each individual Secondary to Jettison which takes valuable time when being defensive, I could use a Jettison All to allow me to drop all AG Payloads to have better chance to defend. Most if not all Modern and even WW2 Aircraft, if I recall, have an Emergency Jettison Switch in which when Pushed would Jettison everything EXCEPT AAMs and other Vital Components like TGPs, Gun Pods or CM Pods.

All in all I think we need more of a chance to be able to Jettison Dead Weight whether being like we had before or at least as an option for those like me that prefers the previous setup. As well as being able to Jettison ALL AG Secondaries for further Emergency Use.

This is extremely disappointing. Whether it was a bug or a "bug", this was one of the most positive changes to Naval gameplay in probably years. If it's going to be reverted then we absolutely need to see other work done on making cover actually be cover, especially with the epidemic of AFK player bots in Naval.

Also, if this is actually a bug and being fixed, can we please get the exact same issue fixed for AI ships too? The target ships in Encounter have always had this same very-hard-to lock "bug", different from players and the AIs that fill in for players.

eeeh, that is just taking the jetson feature away, cause the majority of the time we would use it after the weapons were depleted on empty rocket pods and mainly on the Mirage drop-tanks/pylons, if people were complaining about it didn't changing automatically, could've at least gave us an toggle option, or make it able to switch to empty pylons.

Jettison is useless now.

The Problem IMO is not the auto switch, the Problem is that you can't select empty weapons. I tried it with the Milan, you can jettison the drop tanks when Bombs are still on them. But if you drop all bombs, you can't any more because you can't select the empty bomb rack again.

The easiest fix would be to be able to select empty loadouts. Jettison empty racks should be possible when we can select empty racks.

It could be a good change when they make empty Rocketpods selectable to jettison later - but without that Its a incredible bad change...

It would be easy to make a "Option" within "Air Battles Settings" to switch between a manual toogle, or the 1 second delay switch.

In my opinion i believe that the automatic switch to another secondary weapon makes jettisoning weapons such as empty rocket pods obsolete as you are unable to switch to them, meaning that we would have to save a low amount of rockets in the pods themselves to be able to jettison them, or you will not be able to jettison at all.

Automatically selecting the next weapon group after expending a weapon really made the jettison secondary ordinance keybind pretty useless for a lot of loadouts. For one brief moment, it was viable to take rocket pods into air or ground RB because once they were empty, you could jettison them and remove all that parasite drag in order to dogfight. Now, it auto selects off the group before you can jettison the empty pods. And you can't select an empty weapon to go back and jettison them. Maybe it would be worth adding a "jettison empty ordinance" button for things like rocket pods? Or give us an option to enable or disable automatic weapon selection?
