The Regia Marina, between 1913 and 1919 laid down four classes of what were then referred to as destroyers.  They all were very similar in overall design as all had three stacks, and were virtually identical in size, displacement, and overall look.  All four of the classes  came in under 900 tons full load and their small size and light armament led them all to be reclassed as "torpedo boats" by the Regia Marina in October of 1929. Despite the similarities, there are more than enough differences in armament layout, crew size, and upgrades that each of these four classes of "torpedo boats" could be included in the game while remaining distinct, unique, and offering different gameplay.

The Sirtori Class:

There were four units in the Sirtori class, the  RN Giovanni Acerbi, RN Vincenzo Giordano Orsini, RN Giuseppe Sirtori,  and  RN Francesco Stocco.   All four were laid down in February of 1916.  They differed from the the other classes in caliber of main guns (102mm instead of 75mm) and in number of guns (6 instead of 4).  As built they had the following specifications:

Displacement (full): 850 tons

Length: 73.5m

Beam: 7.3m

Draught: 2.8m

Shafts: 2

Machinery:  2 Tosi steam turbins, 4 thornycroft boilers generating 15500 hp

Max Speed: 30 kts

Armament: 6 X 1 - 102/35, 2 X 1 - 40/39, 2 X 1 - 6.5/80, 2 X 2- 450 Torpedo Tubes (TT)

Crew:  85

In 1920 all four would replace the 102/35 with the 102/45 Schneider-Armstrong 1917.    During world war II the Sirtori and Stocco  would do convoy escort in the lower Adriatic while the Acerbi and Orsini  were stationed in Eritrea.  The  Acerbi and Orsini  were scuttled in Eritrea in 1941, but the  Sirtori  and Stocco  continued to receive upgrades during the war, gaining a light AA setup and eventually losing two torpedo tubes to gain depth charge throwers.  They would both be attacked off of Corfu by German aircraft Semptember of 1943 as they tried to heed the armistice by turning themselves in to the allies.  The  Sirtori  was attacked on 14 September and stranded Potamos.  The crew scuttled the ship on the 25th of September.  The  Stocco  was attacked on 24 September and despite shooting down her attackers she sunk the same day.

I am proposing either the RN Giuseppe Sirtori  in her 1920 configuration (6 X 1 - 102/45, 2 X 1 - 40/39, 2 X 1 - 6.5/80, 2 X 2- 450 Torpedo Tubes).  She would make a fine addition to the Italian Coastal tech tree.
