# Game version

My game version: (2.19.0.82)

# Description

The AIM-7E, AIM-7E-2, Skyflash, Rb71 (and likely AIM-7F) should be able to lead the target by up to 35° before launch, however they can currently only lead the target by 15°.

# Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Test fly an aircraft with the AIM-7E, AIM-7E-2, Skyflash or Rb71 missile

  2. Lock onto a target with your radar

  3. Activate the missile seeker

  4. Observe the size of the outer lock circle

CD101B-0903-15B Supplement to Phantom F-4J Aircrew Manual - Weapon System

Spoiler

This manual states that the pilot can lead the Sparrow and Skyflash missile by +/-35° before launch. The outer lock circle of these missiles should therefore be increased to 35° radius. As the F-4J used AIM-7E, AIM-7E-2 in British service (and this is an RAF manual) it can be assumed that this 35° lead angle applies to this missiles. The 35° lead angle is explicitly stated to apply to Skyflash and as Rb71 is the Swedish designation for Skyflash it should apply to the Rb71 as well.  Therefore the following missiles should have 35° lead angle before launch:

  • AIM-7E
  • AIM-7E-2
  • Skyflash
  • Rb71

In addition the AIM-7F probably should too as it is unlikely to be worse than the previous versions.
