Welcome to the suggestion post for the CV9030FIN! This vehicle is an export variant of the Swedish CV90, but armed with a 30 mm Bushmaster autocannon that most notably can fire Mk258 APFSDS-T ammunition, programmable air burst ammunition, as well as a few different types of high explosive ammunition. In War Thunder, this could translate into a unique version of the CV90 series in the Finnish sub-tree. Naturally, being a Swedish vehicle in origin, it would also be at home in the Swedish tree. Other notable features are that typical of CV90s, thermal imaging, excellent mobility, and enough armor to protect against most machine guns. Let's look into it!

The CV9030 was one of the first major variants of the CV9040. It was originally redesigned for Norwegian specifications, as in 1992, Norway began a series of examinations for a future infantry fighting vehicle. Other competitors included the Austro-Spanish ASCOD, the American M2 Bradley, the German Puma (a prototype by Krauss Maffei Wegmann, not the modern Puma IFV!), and the British FV510 Warrior. Ultimately, the CV9030 won, in part because of its excellent performance in the snowy conditions of Norway. One of the primary changes to the CV9030, or CV90 Mk 1, was its armament. Instead of the 40 mm Bofors, the CV9030 was armed with a 30 mm Bushmaster II autocannon. This was developed from the CV9025 prototype turret, and the vehicle entered service in 1996.

BAE Systems AB later created an upgrade of the CV9030, known as the CV90 Mk II, which partly digitized the vehicle, raised the rear hull slightly, and added in a Health & Unit Monitoring System with interactive manuals and instructions. 4 years later, Finland purchased the CV90 Mk II in a 219 million € deal. A total of 107 were purchased in two separate orders, the first order of 57 being delivered in 2003, the other was ordered in 2004 for 45 more, and these would be delivered in 2006 to 2007. These vehicles, often designated CV9030FIN, have been in Finnish service since.

The 30 mm Bushmaster's ammunition available, Mk258 is an APFSDS-T round, which is the CV9030's primary ammunition for hard targets.

The primary feature of the CV9030 is its 30 mm Bushmaster II autocannon, firing at a rate of fire of around 200 RPM. It offers a few different types of ammunition, including Mk258 APFSDS, Mk310 PABM-T, Mk266 HEI-T most notably. The CV9030FIN itself features night vision for the driver, a digital FCS, a laser designator, commander's sight, as well as a thermal imaging channel for the gunner. The IFV retains the protection of the original CV90, but can be fitted with modular or MEXAS armor, though this is not known to be used in Finnish service.

In the summer of 2021, it was announced by the Finnish Defense Minister, Antti Kaikkonen, that Finland's CV9030 fleet would receive a mid-life upgrade, ensuring their capability into the 2030s. As part of the mid-life upgrade, the Finnish company Senop was awarded a contract to develop night vision sensors for the CV9030 fleet, with the upgrades being applied in the following years.

100% would expect this vehicle to be added to the game. Especially since both nations being Sweden and Finland had a hand in building/operating it. I think it should be researchable. +1 :salute:
